I used to love newspapers. Then they became corporations in their own bought up all locals and they became government and corporate propagation. Newspapers don't seem to know the truth or slant it to favor the politics they support.

Restrictions on voting, have we not learned anything? Time to round up the useless in political positions of power and replace them with people who have common sense and loyalty to the great USA! How will our service men and women vote?

Dan, thanks for your insights and wry shade commentary? How can we get this power away from the boneheads?

Still proud to be an American citizen and a Democrat!

Thank you for sharing the tweets. I tried to do the pay go , and it would not work. Said there was a transaction error. I share this only because I know my card is good and there could be some software issue going on. I will try later to add money to an account. Thank you for your work

Paygo is a terrific idea and long overdue. I would happily pay much more than 15 cents! Thank you Dan, for all you do.

"But the ideals of journalism, of holding the powerful accountable, of getting as close to the truth as is humanly possible, that must endure if we want democracy to endure. And so to play some very small part in encouraging and rewarding new generations of journalists, well that is about as close to the kind of legacy as I could hope for."

You will leave a legacy even without this. You have upheld the ideals of journalism all your life. You are an example for all journalists not just now but in the future because media never dies, you are forever. We will always be able to see your contribution and example even after you are long gone. Thank you for your long and persistent service to holding the powerful accountable and searching for the truth. I hope to see many more years from you but when you are gone I will miss you as I miss Cronkite and all the others who strived for those ideals.
