I, for one, am grateful for the short note on this Friday evening that is filled with so much uncertainty and disappointment. Remain the right kind of cheerleader, Mr. Rather. It matters.
I, too, am feeling pretty grim about the future of liberal democracy in our country. I needed this reminder that most people are not radicals, and that we can find our way through this dark time and come out stronger. I hope we can work together for a better future.
Thank you for your optimism, good sir. Much needed.
Tomorrow is my 54th birthday. Earlier this year I had thought I would be able to travel and finally see my friends in another state for the first time in over two years. Instead, I’ve had to change my plans pretty significantly so that I am the people I am celebrating with, which is a very small number of people (my mom, sister, niece, and my BFF) can stay as safe as possible.
Again.
I ran some errands tonight and was heartened to see that a significant number of people in the store I was in were again wearing masks.
It’s hard to see what the long game is, but I am bolstered by your optimism and the kindness of people commenting on this site. I’ll go through my day tomorrow and remind myself to have a happy heart and be thankful for the people around me, their health as well as my own, and the joys of connecting with others.
Thank you! The Glass is Never half empty or half full, it is REFILLABLE. 😊
Sometimes less really is more. Thank you Steady team for finding the right end of the week sentiment.

I welcome any feelings Mr. Rather feels moved to share with us.
I appreciate the short notes too. Thanks for sharing a little light
I love this idea. It is a perfect entry for a Friday evening inbox. thank you. Very refreshing.
Thank you for providing some perspective, which I sorely needed tonight.
Short or long, Dan Rather's postings are ALWAYS a treat and a message of sanity. Keep them coming.
