This evening I bear witness to the fear, the frustration, and the uncertainty.
I see all that is wrong, that is dark, and that is unnerving.
But I’m reminded of the many turbulent waters of the past. Of how we emerged. Of what we were able to conquer.
I think of the journeys taken and the ones that lie before us.
I honor all the helpers, those who toil for what is good, what is just, and what is hopeful.
I remain an optimist, by nature and by experience.
Courage.
Steady.

Editor’s Note: This is the first time we have used Steady for a short note such as this, a slightly extended version of what Dan shared this evening on Twitter. We are mindful of your email inboxes and wonder whether this type of fare, on some rare occasions, would be welcome or burdensome. As always we value your feedback and thank you for being part of the Steady community. — Elliot and Alex from The Steady Team
I Remain an Optimist...
Yes, I liked the short post for a change!
You have a way of lifting one’s spirit!
It was a nice reminder as it is so easy to get into a mood with the news and division in our country. Your posts and this positive note are so welcome. I also have used the Hope through History podcasts to be reminded of how/when we’ve overcome before. And I pray. A. Lot.
