I'm grateful for a place to find important thoughts and hope without othering or animosity. I get the feeling you believe we are one nation. I want that, too, so I listen closely when you speak.

I believe the kind of cohesion you and Elliot have crafted is just what is needed this day.

Altogether we are doing the work of healing. We feel together and learn together. I'm 56, so, for me, there has always been a Dan Rather. Listening to you is as easy as listening to my family. I'm grateful what you choose to share inspires hope, even when you are addressing the hard stuff.

It's good to be here.

This is just what the doctor ordered. As a Black person I have always mistrusted the Country but held on to hope because of folk like you. I find myself even as a seminary graduate asking God "How long," & "I know God you are not dead..right?" You reminded me that we really are like what is going on today but we really do hope and for the most part want to work to be better. I will continue to look at me and continue to in the words of Aretha Franklin, "Rock Steady" with you, Mr. Rather
