Not voting for Biden supports Trump, especially in swing states.

There isn’t much I can do. But I organize postcards to voters and I made VOTE BLUE NOTHING ELSE stickers.

Oh those postcards are very important. It's something we can all do. (Who can afford the postage. USPS pre-stamped cards are the least expensive.)

Vote Blue No Matter Who.

(Except for Bernie Sanders and Angus King - who caucus with the Democrats.)

Voting for RFK Jr. or the Green Party candidate does not help save democracy. That is what I meant.

RFK junior, another dumb ass. A spoiler, hope he realizes soon what he is doing. There is no chance in hell that he will be POTUS. He will simply ruin it for Biden

Unfortunately, he will not realize what he is doing. He's delusional and that's likely not going to change. So sad.

I was dismayed by a small focus group of Gen Z voters on PBS news tonight. Only one said they will definitely vote for Biden. Pretty scary 🫣

Expand full comment

I also saw that, and was horrified. And couldn't help but feel a little angry at some of their comments. I've had that interview on my mind all evening as it genuinely frightened me. I'm so afraid that Biden has lost the young voters and this will cost him the election. We'd better hope that the women save us!

Expand full comment

He hasn’t. He has David Hogg, Victor Shi, and Maxwell Frost who have millions of followers on X. There are plenty of young women too. PBS only gave a small sampling of Gen Z voters. Many are well-informed.

I saw that focus group. If they are representative of the younger generation we are in BIG TROUBLE!!! Their reasons for their positions for the most part reflected how misinformed Americans are.

Who did they say they were voting for ?

One was a 19 year old male, Trump, one a 28 year old woman leaning 3rd party because Biden is not progressive enough and one 22 year old woman plans not to vote because of Israel/Gaza. One 20 year old male was all for Biden. Made me feel sick to my stomach!

I feel that Fox not News is responsible for a lot of this misinformation that floats around . They lie 24/7 and the public and let’s face it, less sophisticated people buy into every lie they spew. I so wish there was something we could do to stop their lies about Biden or anyone who is a Democrat! The owner set out to destroy our democracy and it’s working. I wish that its listeners would be properly informed but they cling to the lies. Has Fox no shame?

you are correct on what you say and it is very frightening. trump has loose screws, maybe is truly mentally ill. don'tbcare, just want him to not get elected again and finish destroying us. He thrives on anger and pathological lies and just plain craziness. He should have been put in jail already. But is so evil he has probably already gathered more crazies to attack our country, and he must lose or we are done for. I truly am worried and very afraid. He does not have the right to make us afraid .

I think he is definitely mentally ill. Autocorrect suggested mentally UNSTABLE which is also certainly true. 💔⚖️🇺🇸💔

Expand full comment

There's no doubt about it. Add his drug abuse (highly suspected, I should say, not proven) and his obvious slide into dementia, the very idea of him becoming POTUS again is terrifying. He's really ramping up the dictator rhetoric, too. The man seems to have no fear that he could lose.

I really think he is mentally ill. Sane people do not behave like he does or come up with these insane plans for the country including being a dictator in a Free country. All his plans are terrifying. A sane person/normal candidate wouldn’t talk like this. His plans for women are terrifying.

Expand full comment

And hundreds of mental health professionals know he ismentally ill. At the very least, he appears to be suffering from frontotemporal dementia. Google Dr. John Gartner. ((Google "The Dangerous Case of donald trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President." (book, 2017) I am no expert, but what I learned in my 20-year career in behavioral health convinces me trump is a malignant narcissist. And he has dementia-there is no question about it.

I believe you and his recent comments about what his term, which will not end in 4 or even 8 years but go on until his death, are that of a vicious dictator. What’s really alarming is the Republican parties lack of reaction to this extreme agenda! Are they seriously going to continue to champion him when it’s so obvious that he’s got dementia and or mentally ill or both? He’s extremely dangerous and what’s terrifying is his fanatical fans who don’t seem to understand that he’s seriously ill! It’s terrifying to watch him and the Republican Party pretend there’s nothing wrong! It’s so very obvious!

He’s the type of defendant who can derail cases with appeals, delays and hopes for overreach by a judge for grounds to appeal. The judges - with the exception of a certain one in FL - seem to be crossing all the T’s and dotting all the I’s so their rulings with not be preempted mid-trial or tossed on appeal. In the current case the prosecutor did not ask that he be incarcerated for his gag order violations probably for the same reason. Holding it over his head seems to be fulfilling the primary responsibility of the judge: protecting the jury which keeps the trial moving.

He’s lost many cases over the years or paid to settle them. Among all the civil cases was the recent criminal tax fraud case where 2 of his companies were found guilty of 7 felonies each by a jury. His pretend university is no more. His sham family foundation had its assets dispersed among actual not-for-profits.

He was able to build a fake persona and fake business ventures on 2 pillars:

- His only real area of expertise - fake news. The NY rags ran with the stories he fed them about himself & others. Usually using fake names when he called.

- Sycophants. Just like the fake news outlets they expect to gain something in return for playing his game.

“Trump is thus a brilliant student of the street, but not of political philosophy. He is as manipulative and self-serving as his father. He is as authoritarian as his NYMA drill instructors and as self-justifying as Rev. Peale. In his public life he has demonstrated the ruthlessness and cynicism of Roy Cohn and Roger Stone.“

I am petrified by Trump's likely weaponization of the DOJ to go after political enemies, certainly including the "Biden Crime Family". In fact, I think he'll appoint complete sycophants like Jeffrey Clark and John Eastman with loyalty be the overwhelmingly key criteria for selection, not competence, honesty, or strong moral fiber. He'll turn the US Government into a 24/7 grievance and retribution factory to the great dismay of everyone including senior members of the GOP. Those senior member will have sold their souls to the devil in service to power and money. And for that, we have Citizens United, Dobbs, and Holder to hold up as perfect examples of how our Supreme Court became perfectly corrupted. They'll never, never hold Trump to account for anything, ever.

I wish all the media would drop the use of "President" for anyone other than CURRENT President.

Taking people off of voting lists, closing polls and so many other barely legal if they even are legal actions, instead of figuring out what voters want. For years now Republicans have been cheating how are they able to get away with taking names off of voting lists is it legal? Are these voters even notified? How can these Republicans think this is honorable? Deep down they must know this is cheating people of their right to vote. How to protect these voters? Something must be done, there is no honor in winning by cheating, not that Trump would care his entire life he’s cheated one way or another.

Thank you Dan for an amazing summary of exactly what is facing this nation if the former guy ever gets back into the White House. I think that this interview was conducted by Time Magazine and not any affiliate of Fox News may resonate with those voters that are either independent or Republicans searching for a good reason not to vote for that candidate. Everyone should print this essay out and have it with them so that we all can provide clear and concise reasons for why the former guy is the worst possible choice Americans can make in November.

Sadly, no one is writing about the real rigging of elections. Red states, or the Confederacy of Dunces as I prefer, have been knocking millions of people off the voter rolls. They’re suing in court to allow election stormtroopers (armed) to intimidate people of color in blue cities located in red states.

Furthermore, they’ve passed over 200 new voters laws restricting voting even further, and are training a cadre of election workers to oppose signatures, and knock out as many mail-ins as possible (up to 40% in the past in some precincts), if there is even the slightest difference.

Additionally, 20states, including my own, Florida, removed themselves from ERIC, which makes sure people who move states between elections aren’t registered and voting in two different states.

Not to mention, in 2020, red states refused to allow federal election officials to observe voting sites to make sure shenanigans didn’t take place. They’re already planning on doing it again.

If you think 2020 was bad, republicans are fixing to rig the election, using state legislatures and the courts so they can steal an election legally; and it just might work.

Yet, no major media outlet is reporting on these issues..:)

They spend 23 hours a day analyzing Trump’s behavior and sleep at his trial, or his disparaging of witnesses and prosecutors on Truth Social.

And spend maybe five minutes on TV or in the news about the real threat; every once in a while.

My point: it’s not a priority and they don’t truly explain the threats and consequences should Trump prevail.
