Preach on Dan - you have been doing that as long as I can remember and you have done it ethically and accurately all these years.

Thank you Dan, for speaking for those of us who feel as you but do not have the opportunity to reach a wide audience. I'm 20 years behind you, and speak out about what's happening to our country whenever I can. I hear the echo of my Dad's voice from the Vietnam War days when he openly criticized it, knowing, as he did, that war was brutal enough when you knew what you were fighting for. He earned 5 Bronze stars in WWII that his 6 children never knew of until his death. He always led discussions at the dinner table over current affairs, expecting us to defend our positions with facts and honesty. No "what ifs.." for him!

I agree that we are in a fight for democracy in our country. The move to restrict rights, remove rights granted after long battles, and to dictate how one must live if you want to be an "American" is counter to everything history has shown us. We became a great nation because we acknowledge the individual as well as the common good. We came together to analyze and solve economic and domestic issues. We debated on the floor of our Capitol in Washington and individual states. Now our leaders sit and do nothing. Back room deals are all that's done. And one man, a narcissist, changed how we deal with each other. Civility is not required. Bully your way to the top and fight to stay.

I pray we can keep our democracy, not only for the time I have left, but for my children and grandchildren.

Never stop speaking out, Dan! You amplify our voices.
