While we let multiple courts take care of Trump we must take care of defeating his Republican Co-conspirators in the voting booths!

I don't usually read about serial killers, but incidentally I saw a photo on an Onion slideshow of the BTK Killer (had to look him up). Placed next to Trump's mug shot, it makes a perfect match:

We need a dual photo mug for that. Or in a different vein, another mug w/ an arrow saying "I'm with Stupid" to place strategically next to your scowling Trump mugshot mug on the shelf.

It's always been interesting to note the comments made by those who claim "he'll (Trump) always find a way out - he's proven to be above the law." Much the same was said of another 'Teflon' personality - John Gotti - who was finally bought to justice when an underling (Sammy the Bull) saved his own skin. Karma has teeth, and it's finally about to sink those fangs into several deserving rumps !

As 45 LOVES to quote in his speeches (which are all essentially PROJECTION and CONFESSION):

"You KNEW I was a snake when you brought me in."

A poisonous one at that!

This and so very many additional admissions and even explanations for his "out loud" maliciousness. In his 7/3/2021 speech in Sarasota, he was talking about alleged disinformation directed at him and other Republicans when he just blurted out “If you say it enough and keep saying it, they’ll start to believe you.” As I'm sure Dan has mentioned many times, this fool keeps telling on himself....he tells you his secrets.

Prior to his entering the political arena, his books had quotes glorifying the virtues of making up a reality and then repeating it until people start to believe it.

“I play to people’s fantasies,” he wrote in “The Art of the Deal.” “People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular. I call it truthful hyperbole.” And then there's “If you admit defeat, then you will be defeated,” Trump wrote in “Think Big.”

Very pathetically, it works.

Bob, I worked and lived in DC for 17 months. My job was with the District of Columbia Health and Human Services so I was working alongside DC Residents. I found them to be an intelligent, dedicated group of people, loyal to their Country. Loyal despite the fact that they are the only American citizens living in the actual Country who are taxed without representation. They have not been granted Statehood - although they outnumber two of the States - for two reasons, 53.8% of the permanent population is non-white and 76% of the permanent population are registered Democrat. They have a large functioning LGBTQ+ community. Trust me, they will have no difficulty providing a large pool of capable, intelligent, educated jurors.

Most jurors take their oaths very seriously. Study after study has shown that ordinary Americans of all political perspectives---right, left, center, and completely indifferent--- tend to become their own best civic selves in the jury box. Sure, it is always possible that there will be a "nullifier" on the jury, but that's one of the random, rare civic risks of a free society. Both the judge and the prosecution will make every effort to insure a fair jury.

Expand full comment

I'm not 100% about that. Time and again we see people looking to get their 15 minutes of fame.

we have to trust that the prosecutors know more than we do about jury selection.

The prosecution does not select the jury in a federal court. You can absolutely believe that this judge will be weeding out people who show a strong political bent for either party. Of course, she could be fooled by a convincing MAGA hopeful jurist, but I don't think many of them are even as smart as their leader.

When the DC trial starts, the judge will do the voir dire. Those idiots asking for their Georgia trials to be moved to a federal court will also find that the judge does the void dire. In many states (including Georgia) the lawyers do it. So their best chance to have any sympathetic jurors would have been in state court.

Love this! Thank you. Bring on March 4. I recently binge-watched several seasons of Station 19. While it may not be for everyone, it took place through the trump administration and Covid, and relived for me the atrocities trump inspired through hatred and division. George Floyd, the paramilitary police, ICE acting like Gestapo, attacks on everyone who weren’t as hating and decisive as trump and his stormtroopers. It was a nightmare for many of us. I won’t feel better till this man is behind bars.

Sorry Steve it was closer to 1980 that this trend started. Trump blew it up and went way past any acceptable behavior for an elected official. However, the elected members 0f congress are what allowed it turn into a criminal enterprise. The republicans have sunk to an all time low allowing the fat guy to run roughshod over our democracy. They must be stopped now or our country is gone.

Hi Mike, Not disagreeing with you on when this started. Fact, one can look to WW2 or just there after. You know of President Ike`s speech, on or when or on he was leaving office. 1960 -61? As to "watch"players behind the scenes, I`ll call it. Plus add Kennedy, follow up?

Short, war and or other means can be profitable. Vs growing a good across the board economy.

There is many things going on here, YES, Was, Vietnam War just a distraction as to Not be watching what was going on as to US in South America? Why We today having problems immigration. plus not doing a thing as to Drug trade. Whom is really the richest person?

All is pieces to a massive puzzle.

But, what needs to be focused on today. Me, it is about now to simplify for the voters. As numbers, Voters, are not going to do the homework.

Can You or do you know what your Rep. is or done of late?

I don't, only the major, and YEAH, if media covers it. Lot has NOT even been brought up as to what is important or info. In past, I can show it, WHY? add how cheap many will sale out. DC is the biggest cash cow in the world. I have an idea on this matter, as to how stop it, or lobbyist!

Control the narrative, change history. Tell a lie long enough it become Truth.

I see this as a two way front. Start the message as this is not about the D`s vs R`s. It about those that behind all this, The Grifters, conmen, have you seen Docs over Roy Cohn, and his play book. Thats what we`re up against.

Those, that has made, Capitalism - profit is king - is more important than Democracy and or Our Constitution.

YES, I am for and very strongly support Capitalism, BUT it only works "IF" you have competition. Dropping our Monopolies Laws was to me a major mistake, along with regulations, note: yes, too many is a problem, BUT None is worse.

We passed a few VERY Good laws in the 1930`s when going through the great Depression. As to protect us from Those that only wish to own the Whole board as to economy and trade.

as many here, Well answer is to make GOP pay, up and down the board or Ballot! History, isn't that what happen after 1929? but then We had a lot better media. Cartoons pic`s was a major help on that. Pic can say so much more, then words. add the massive related to better. even to those that didn't read. can and was able to relate. then, Banks or bankers, was the enemy. will history repeat?

You sir are correct. I was referencing when I recognized we actually had people who would champion a guy like P01135809. To me 1980 was the beginning when they stopped even pretending to work together. Conservatives throughout history have been regressive and seriously lack empathy. The best economic system is well regulated capitalism, the worst is unregulated capitalism. You are correct showing what and who tries to make the citizens lives better is crucial. Pictures could be the answer. Progressives have had messaging problems for decades. I have told myself that those who are more truthful have difficulty making headlines. Most important point the GOP needs to be voted out dramatically in at least the next 2 elections. Thanks

Donny’s lawyer was horribly offensive in court yesterday. Judge Chutkan had to tell him twice to tune down the volume. He refused to consider any date before 2026 and in fact told Judge Chutkan that Donny would get less legal advice as a result. It didn’t go over well.

Vivek Rama…talk about a dangerous guy. He said that Pence broke the law by certifying the votes. He went to Yale Law School. I know for absolute fact that Yale has graduated some brilliant minds in the far past…my dad and while Prock went to Medical school at Yale…he was a brilliant neurosurgeon. Wish Yale could rescind that law degree. Vivek also said that there’s no such thing as white nationalism. We fought a world war over this. 6 million Jews died and millions more between being gassed, starved and or worked to death.

We’ve never had to ask folks to take some kind of test that shows their education and that they are truly qualified to be president. I’m not even sure how you’d test for something like this. But darn, if someone could come up with a test, I’d surely vote for it.

This will only be impactful if people will focus on the meaning and full implications of what the charges are, what the former president did in violation of his oath of office, and how it is presented. If, however, they only get preselected sound bites via MAGA media outlets, it may only serve to increase the cult adulation he has received from his followers up to now. Nobody plays the martyr better than Trump, and he will have lots of attention seeking media folks to help him. Look at the way in which he used his mug shot to garner financial support. At last report it was upwards of $7million and growing. Those who value our democracy owe it to our country to speak out. Let the people know the truth. Silence is complicity. It will only exacerbate the problem. Look at what is happening with the presidential wannabees. Taken at their words, their plans are frightening, and would only limit our freedom in every way. Yet no one says anything. Andrea Mitchell interviewed Vivek Ramaswamy today and he barely let her get in a question nor would he reply to her follow-up requests for detailed explanations. But she said nothing afterward. His proposals were frightening. But just as the upcoming trials, nothing will result unless people have enough courage to shed light on it. We can overcome these problems, just as we overcame major obstacles in the past. We have to stand up and put forth the effort. All of the courageous patriotic Americans can't have perished....................more attention is being paid to Idalia's progress towards Florida than to the fact that a former president is facing a series of trials in courts in various venues.
