If I was to design a t-shirt or bumper sticker for Trump's base, it would be very simple, two words: "SO WHAT". Trump made a good start on cultivating his followers indifference to any criticism of him at a campaign speech in Sioux Center Iowa on Jan 24 2016:

This has been a very sad and frightening era, with some people believing the most dangerous and ridiculous things spouted by republicans, all in the name of a man with no morals, no shame, no conscience.. what will wake these people up before it's too late?
With the Retrumplicans controlling the House, and Manchin/Sinema still alive and "not us" in the Senate, and the Loser playing his own music on the Base, and Biden's less that steel spine, the next two years could transition the USA to the "loser state" list.
With House and Senate Retrumps dedicated to causing Democratic failure regardless of the melting icecaps, devastating droughts, forest fires everywhere, and burn-baby-burn (fossil fuels) still a popular option, the USA could turn out to be the do nothing state. China won't object.
As you can see here, is the typical animosity of Dan Rather against the GOP. Did he indicate any of the positives he did over his 4 years as #45 ? No he did not. He did not mention that Trump’s economy was terrific, inflation low, building the wall, plenty of energy, police were still able to control most riot situations. No all he does is give his distorted innuendos. How about reporting on the Biden’s and their failures and criminal activities globally ? Not a word. Dan who the F—k is in power now? I think the problem is both establishment Republicans and Democrats have long overlooked the plight of the working class and poor in the United States for decades. Those economic and social issues need to be addressed like it should have been a long time ago. If we had had a much better support system for both the working class and poor we would probably have kept Trump out of office in the first place. We need a new generation of leadership. Not from people who were born from 1928 to 1980 who grew up prior to 1980 and yearn for those old days. I think these people in leadership are actually predominantly wealthy and are thinking about making a quick buck and not concerned about the long term implications of trying to make that quick buck. These wealthy people benefitted at the expense of the working class and the poor for decades.
When I think of trump, I don’t have a positive opinion.
Trump came into office without a single thought to govern. He didn’t even know that as a president, there are rules that govern him as he governed us .
His admin. Was packed with ppl that were so destructive, the chance to govern was toppled.
Trump was a lousy businessman . He lied to his supporters .
Of course trumps character over the decades were well documented.

There’s a NETWORK of ppl making money of his image - that to me is the single most reason he succeeded...MAGATS put the final brick in creating and sustaining this horrible presidency .republicans seemed to think it was to their advantage to protect his corruption.
He has since losing 2020 election committed crimes . He had drug ambitious politicians in office to actually participate In conspiring with trump and his supporters to viciously steal the election win from president Biden .
To this day investigations are moving forward to compile all perpetrators of the crimes on Jan 6 2021.
America continues to allow elected members of the House to sit, even though they have broken their oath of office. That is the central problem in this democracy. This means anyone can swear an oath, as it is meaningless. Time to change that or continue to wallow in a your political mess. Quit dancing. Time to walk the walk. The framers of the Constitution are spinning in their graves.
The only part of your message that troubles me is where you encourage Ron DeSantis to run. People in Florida know that DeSantis believes that freedom merely means agreeing with him, and that statistics can be easily manipulated to suit his whims. He may be smarter than Trump in his demeanor, but he’s not a better person. In fact, that is what frightens those in south Florida who know him better.
I think as I read these articles written by Dan Rather and Elliott Kirschner how much I enjoy (and miss) reporters and writers who can truly write intelligent offerings. Thank you, gentlemen.
