"Checking in," a greeting from an old friend as intro to each time he called. So missing as I got songs and singing three little birds, one get the song and other sing, different yet sentiment the same, few decades now. Been very lucky at times, short-lived as they were gifts. So special memories and being among here as well. Checking in among friends a lot better than any alternative! Thank you Dan Rather for this photo and happiness to bump into old friendships. Not repeat of who you are, rerun to a jaded and along with you. Excuse this later to arrive as I was in NY at to see Gloria Steinem and recovering from looking up doctors. I was hit by car, mentioned in report as nothing relating to such, plastic cart became the guard and quick reflect saved me from being run down. Only the visual stayed and now left arm has to checked. Resilience and bouncing back, how? is Mighty must add. Lots of love to you and your family! Blessings, so great having Dan Rather among in some forums. Best this subscription and for good reasoning. Evelyn Ramos -- lot of typos, as informally badly writing again, academically doesn't allow error in written words. Best to write in list formula, having ageism block, in cell problems as in making fun!

I admit to getting a bit weepy reading today’s post. It has been a very long time since we were all free to enjoy good conversation face to face. I feel we are getting there. I am traveling again with friends and it feels so good!

Just yesterday, I sat on a bench in the sun in a tiny Tuscan village and a young Dutch couple struck up a conversation with me. It was a marvelous exchange. We talked about connections and kindness and how we have personally changed. I went away feeling energized by such a generous encounter.

ABSOLUTELY! If the pandemic had any lessons for us, that we NEED human contact to be fully functional humans is the one I appreciate the most.

Thank you.

Those kinds of friendships are truly a rare luxury. I am fortunate to share a few of those, from my five-decade globe-trotting career with the military that started in 1960. I am now 81 years old and retired for the past 12 years. Besides Christmas card/letter exchanges and social networking, we do the occasional phone call. We pick up the conversation right where we let off, a year, or two or three years ago. Those of us who have these beautiful friendships are really blessed!

The Muppets are amazing. Thinking of two friends being together, reminds me of this video from Annie, “Together at last!”

The meeting produced such warm feelings and that is what is so great and what we all need today as so many are doing so many things to take them away from us.
