Dems are funding far right candidates, attempting to select who they run against. Really interesting and kinda crazy to think they’re giving millions of their donations to republicans. https://www.npr.org/2022/06/20/1106256047/why-democrats-are-paying-for-ads-supporting-republican-primary-candidates

I think the Supreme Court’s ruling on abortion and the bans that followed will make a huge difference

Very little of what people are complaining about has been caused by the current administration. My wife and I believe that the current radical Republican party has prevented Biden from any success just to be sure that Democrats do not succeed in their mission of preserving democracy and appearingto be successful. Hopefully this attitude will show up in the midterm election and against the odds the Democrats can prevail

Politics is like a car D is for drive ahead R is for reverse in other words Democrats want to move forward while Republicans want to go back to the past come November we should all vote for the future and keep the past in the rear view mirror

I sincerely hope that Democrats vote in November in huge numbers to oust the idiot Stop The Stealers

who don't realize that it was DJT trying to steal the election from Biden. A windfall profits tax would ease a lot of pain and maybe put money back in the pockets of ordinary Americans like it did in Britain, Spain and elsewhere. Most of the shortages and price hikes are corporations just raising prices for no reason other than that they can, and the CEO's just want more. Simple greed.

Repeal the Trump tax cuts and maybe Bezos and Musk can pay a bit more. We should not be giving tax payer funds to corporations like we do. Also the Blue states could stop contributing to the Red states and let them pay their own way for a change. Perhaps we could start with WV and Manchin's MVP pipeline...start holding him hostage like he has been since 2020. WV pays dearly for him and his coal for their power. Publish the numbers so the people know why he against everything. $5M a year.

The wind will blow towards inflation.

I am causiously optimistic that the midterms will be a correction from the previous insanity of the former regime. Fir this I pray! 💙💙💙

The swirling winds and flags blowing in opposition so resembles our country and in many ways, our world. Those that are blaming Joe Biden for the economy, not doing enough about the Roe vs. Wade reversal are not paying attention. As you mentioned, Dan, the Democrats have a majority in the Senate, but two are wolves in sheep's clothing. His hands are tied. If people sit at home come Election Day because they are angry at the runaway gas prices and inflation need to remember that oil cartels and all corporations are using the Ukrainian war as an excuse to raise prices. The price for a gallon of oil is the same as when it first reached those levels a decade ago, yet we paid half as much at the gas stations. Hopefully those sane people are reading about the record profits and wondering how that is happening.

The picture shows the wind blowing in 2 directions, yet Mr Rather and the photographer define that as in all directions. I in reality it’s only two opposite directions. Suffice it to say, this is how politicians, sorry… i mean the media, like to spin the truth into something it is not. If there were several other flags simultaneously demonstrating other directions, then it would be reasonable to use all, but not in this case. It’s just 2.

Facts matter and this is just more Rather spin of his own political bias to serve his own political ends to satisfy his subscribing Democratic base. It’s just an echo chamber of likemindedness despite the original “stated” intent of being a place to discuss issues from different points of view. With only a few vocal exceptions This is just a rally point for the liberal bent to pat themselves on the back and unite against everything Republicans do.

Dan Rather has an irrational troll who uses different monikers.

Great write up by some Republicans on the 2020 election: https://lostnotstolen.org//wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Lost-Not-Stolen-The-Conservative-Case-that-Trump-Lost-and-Biden-Won-the-2020-Presidential-Election-July-2022.pdf?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

Take 10 minutes and read this and then make up your mind on who to vote for....

Democrats will come out in droves to unseat Republicans in the midterms so they can finally make good on Biden 's promises.

Steady now…because, as they say, some storms come not to knock us over, but to clear the path…I can only hope…let the blue wave rise…🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

Thank you. I appreciate 72 years worth of perspective on American politics. It doesn't exactly look like progress, does it? Most of the things I've seen in my life--civil rights, abortion rights, more women in positions of leadership, gay rights, human rights--seemed solid. Now, and I suspect it's just a deep lashback to a Black President, I see a frenzy to roll things back to 1938 or 1863. It's hard to be steady when the wind blows in all directions.

i know we are suffering from high retail and gas prices, However it’s a tax I’m willing to pay to

prevent the Republican party from devouring our democracy.

News media and journalists of all stripes do way too much predicting and not nearly enough background, history, investigation, reporting, and true analysis.

How is prediction useful? Might it lead to increased apathy? If the poll says the majority think differently, why bother to go vote? Right now I am angry with Joe Manchin.
