So lovely that I still have tears in my eyes. I have an appreciation for all genres of music, and a sincere appreciation for Steady exposing me to pieces that I may never have heard. I humbly thank you.
Very nice! I have never seen or heard a lark before, to the best of my knowledge. They don’t mingle with the doves, quail, and cactus wrens of southern Arizona.
There is another song inspired by this precious bird: Skylark, penned by Johnny Mercer and sung by Hogie Carmichael. A happy tune much in the spirit of Blue Skies, which was referenced previously. Listen to them both and smile.
I'm amused to see this from "Steady" - a day before I - unawares - posted on Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony (the only post I've ever done here on classical music). My post's perhaps of local interest, but universal allure. And it reflects on a heightener of blood-pressure in our modern age: Russianism. Take a look, if you care to: https://endlesschain.substack.com/p/the-pathetique-of-peter.
Thank you for this beautiful poem. It has inspired me! It’s wonderful to read aloud--even to yourself. What beautiful rhythms and rhymes and expressive feelings! It was truly a gift!
The Lark Ascending is exquisite. My late husband was an avid bird watcher and now 3 of his four sons are. They will enjoy listening to this and fondly remember their Dad.
Thanks to Dan Rather and ELLIOT KIRSCHNER for this steady essay. I realize that we need a break from the chaos and confusion that Right Wing Republicans have been stirring up for a long time. Anyway, it is nice to know that there was classical music being played in addition tothe skylark bird. I don't really know that much about the skylark but thanks to steady for sharing its calls. My father was an environmental ecologist who always tried to instill into people their appreciation for the natural world. My father used to do a lot of bird watching.
What an amazingly wonderful man you are. A blessing.

So beautiful. Thank you for introducing us to Hillary Hahn. These reasons to smile are cherished by all of us on Steady

It was great to have the comparison with the bird song, too. Outstanding. The videos themselves are also so well done, and the sound clear. Lovely.
