Thank you, Dan, for taking the time to stop and give praise for the wildflowers! They are a testament to the ever tenacious example of the quest of all things for transformation and rebirth. As you expressed, they find their way in the most difficult of situations.... 110 degree heat of Death Valley, the cracks of the freeways and byways, tops of mountains, wherever their little stems can hold them. Remember the red poppies of Flanders Fields, which continue to inspire nations to peace. And even now the dandelions, which smile their bright yellow faces into the sun, giving life gift to the bees which sustain our planet. How blessed we are indeed for the wildflowers that abide with us in their beauty❣🎋🥀🌻🌺
Wildflowers in the spring do the same for me. I walk a park almost everyday in Louisville and watching the same areas finally come alive with patches of wildflowers shows that nature has its cycle and helps remind me of my own
The pictures were lovely and I want to thank you for sharing a picture of your lovely wife. Might I add that you are looking quite dapper and I know you are young at heart! We have many California poppies blooming right now all over the place but salvia and lavender also are attracting the butterflies and the bees that we so desperately need as we are sadly, looking at another year of drought. Hummingbirds are truly my favorite as I get such joy watching them flit from plant to plant, sometimes flying very near to me. Nature of the birds and the bees plus nurturing my plants gives me joy.
Thank you for a stroll down Memory Lane.It wbeat thatovely. We live in NC now but I was born and bred in Texas, most of it spent in the Hill Country. At 80 years, the memory of the beautiful explosion of wild flowers makes my heart beat faster, and that's a good thing!
Thank you Dan Rather for writing brilliant articles! As an anchor of CBS I never failed to watch you. Now with Steady I pray that you will continue journalism in any media! God Bless you & your family.
It’s been 30 years since taking a vacation by car. I always enjoyed seeing the wildflowers on the side of the highway. Thank you for bringing back my memories ❤️
we have blue flowers on our balcony, they are blue grape hyacinths. Thanx for your pics and your good thoughts so often. Nice to see your wife and you happily together. Wishing you all the best.
What a wonderful essay. A big part of the beauty of spring, are the flowers. I am old enough to remember when Mrs. Johnson started the highway beautification project.
Dan, you have the heart of a poet
Beautiful!
Thank you, Dan, for some moments of beauty.
