There's Dan Rather again, when we need him. I'm so thankful for many things, especially my family, having more than enough of the necessities of life, and for learning through much trial to appreciate the simple things. Yet, I truly could not live this life that God has given me without being able to cast my burdens upon Him. For that I am eternally grateful. Happy Thanksgiving Dan, Elliot, and all.
I am grateful for your essays in which you share a perspective born of experience and wisdom. I find they often help me to find a balance that sometimes eludes me in day to day life.
I am thankful for your newsletters/essays Mr Rather. You, Heather Cox Richardson (Letters From An American), Ruth Ben-Ghiat (Lucid) and Christopher Ingraham (The Why Axis) have helped me stay educated and that helps me stay involved. Both - educated & involved - keep me from being mired permanently in despair over the state of our country. (Oh, and Mary L Trump just started a Substack newsletter titled The Good in Us that will add to this indispensable, wonderful group.)
I thank you and your team for your work on Steady. I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving.
Well, Dan you made me cry. Your words reflect so much our thought about the dire circumstances of the last several years. Circumstances which were further exacerbated by a horribly mismanaged pandemic and then to have the vaccine's salvation undermined and weakened by power-obsessed, malicious individuals. Thank you for reminding us how fortunate many of us are, and to be mindful of (and generous to) those who are not. Happy Thanksgiving. You have surely earned what happiness you are currently enjoying. Keep keeping us on a positive path.
Thankful for you, Dan.
Happy and BLESSED and safe Thanksgiving to all the Steady Team and families!
So thankful for you, Mr. Rather! THANK YOU!
Good on you, Dan. Keep on keeping on.
I am thankful for Steady and the voices of reason behind it and the voices that contribute. Thank you all!
I am thankful for your inspiring words of reflection. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
