Heartfelt condolences first. I needed to read a voice of reason, a light in this very dark tunnel. Thank you Mr. Rather, you’re a class act.

Thank you, Dan and Team Steady.

Jesus said something to the effect that worrying isn’t helpful. Be that as it may, it’s most certainly understandable and justifiable.

"But many of his nominees not only will make him look bad but also represent a threat to this nation’s very existence and security. That is not hyperbole."

Very true,

And with a basis in history on multiple occasions, when you consider the intention for oligarchy, for-profit/private ownership of services essential to a society. (traditionally known as public services)

This is how societies collapse.

A common thread in the fall of multiple civilizations is a vast disparity between ultra-rich leadership and the rest of the people. Populations revolt, some societies never revolver.

MAGA Republicans truly will destroy the USA and our relationships with other democratic countries - unless we relentlessly resist.

Dan,

The death of a wife or a husband is always difficult beyond words because it is the loss of your shared lifetime. There are no golden words to ease the burden of the loss that is so profound. I share my condolences with you and your family.

These are the worst of the worst, but RFK, Jr.'s appointment is equally dangerous in a different way. National security is our biggest concern, but from a domestic pov, the damage this fraud will do to the health of all Americans is pretty serious too. Imagine another pandemic, or even and epidemic. Would they focus on researching a vaccine? The signs don't point in that direction.

Dan, my condolences on your wife's passing.

Trump’s cabinet picks can be described best by the sociological term: “Social Clumping”.

People want to be around people like themselves.

One of the best examples of social clumping we see is often in fraternities and sororities at colleges and universities. So often the members all “look” about the same, and behave similarly.

Look at Trump’s cabinet choices so far — there are multiple nominees who face scrutiny over sexual impropriety or outright sexual assault issues; and/or substance abuse issues.

Remember — Trump was on Jeffery Epstein's plane and island many, many times — where we know they raped children — and bragged about it. The interview where Trump bragged that he and “Jeff” liked pretty ladies “on the younger side” was a huge tell. Given that Epstein was arrested for underage sex trafficking and his chief procurement helper was convicted for sex crimes involving minors, it ads up that Trump does the same.

Alex Acosta was the US Attorney who gave Epstein a sweetheart deal in a criminal proceeding; got nominated to Trump’s first cabinet; and later resigned when allegations about that deal surfaced.

In addition to Epstein, Trump has been credibly accused of sexual assault by more than 20 women. And let us not forget the “Grab them by the pu**y” video for, I think, Entertainment Tonight.

We learned that the White House pharmacy under then Navy doctor Ronny Jackson was passing out all sorts of addictive drugs to staff members during the last Trump administration.

That Trump has nominated those with substance abuse issues is one of the biggest tells that he himself has a substance abuse issue, because like wants to be with like.

Look for Trump to continue to nominate people for office who enjoy the same vices he has.

Anyone who supports tRump, is a moral degenerate just like him and his Close Coconspirator Jeffrey Epstein, In Sex Abuse AND RAPE OF Minor Children. "You kind of people" should have NO RIGHTS!

The love never dies. It is passed to your children, to their children and on and on for generations. You were given a great gift You still have it. As do your loved ones, whether family or all those who were touched by her example and love.

A coalition of Syrian rebels captured the country's fourth-largest city of Hama yesterday, forcing the Syrian army further south. The conquest follows last week's takeover of the commercial capital, Aleppo, with the group reportedly continuing south toward Homs in the direction of the capital, Damascus.

Just because Russia is in Syria, is NO REASON for the United states to have a military presence there, any more. *Bring our troops home from the Middle East, Afrika and anywhere else that they are not absolutely necessairy! *US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces? No Longer.

Some governments, including neighbor Israel, are preparing for the possible collapse of the Assad regime. Roughly 900 US troops have been stationed in the country for years, officially to fight the long-degraded ISIS.

I have called both of my Senators, one of whom is up for re-election in '26. That thug, Trump may try to bully them, but if their constituents speak up, perhaps they'll do the right thing.

The only way to pressure the Republican Senators is to remind them that each Senator will be held responsible to their Consent votes in the next election. tRump will have difficulty keeping any of his campaign promises to the tRump base to lower inflation, reduce gas prices and food prices while growing the economy. Especially if he follows through on the Tarif threats to Canada, Mexico, and China. Adding to his political problems will the be economic inflation in food and new housing costs when he starts deporting the millions of “illegal aliens”. I believe few tRump base votes understand farm workers and unskilled construction workers will be the low hanging fruit for deportation. When they leave, there will be no legal low paying labor to pick fruit, milk cows and dig ditched thereby driving up costs and shortening supplies. Pushing prices higher and higher. These inflationary actions cannot be easily controlled by the Federal Reserve since expendable income will also be decreasing by higher basic costs of food, fuel and rent. The only controllable reaction will be for the Democratic party to focus on winning back the house and Senate. With higher prices why vote for the party who is causing it?

The second vulnerable action of the Republican Party may well be the “Reduce Waste Committee “The easiest reductions will be reducing or eliminating Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid. If that is done, every senior will run from any Republican candidate.

tRump will also have to produce a new income tax plan that will pay his rich bodies while not screwing everyone else. If Republican house and Senate support his plan, it will only drive up the national debt similarly to his first administration. Only the top 10% will be better off. Why vote for a Republican??? Given he only won by less than 2% of the national vote, the Democrats only need to swing 5% of the 2026 election voters to take over the legislatures and stop more democratic decay. Select the candidates now, do the math and start supporting the future winners now. Do not wait.

Thank you. That was very informative. I think your last words are the most telling. DT will bear the ultimate responsibility. He has never in his spoiled, narcissistic life, ever accepted responsibility for anything he was even remotely associated with, let alone directly responsible for. We must defend against these absurd & dangerous choices as you say, because our national survival & security depends on it.

It is good to hear from you! Your mission is such a benefit to the rest of us. The leadership picks are abhorrent and terrifying. It is helpful to know that there is at least a shred of concern among Republicans about the disasters people like this could heap upon our nation.
