In our research to get to know Kamala Harris better, we came across an interview where the presumptive Democratic nominee was asked to name her favorite album. She said, “Songs In The Key of Life, Stevie Wonder,” without missing a beat. She has very good taste. Wonder’s signature album is our reason to smile.
The double album, released in 1976, is one of the all-time greats by almost any measure. It won the Grammy for album of the year. It is Wonder’s bestselling album. The Library of Congress deemed it “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” when it was inducted into the National Recording Registry. It is overflowing with so many great songs it was hard to pick just one. We went with “Sir Duke,” a joyful ode to American musical greats including Duke Ellington. Just try listening to this song without smiling.
Harris grew up listening to and loving music. She said her mother had every Stevie Wonder album along with Aretha Franklin, among others. She told MSNBC that it’s important to “find the time to dance. Find the time to whistle and sing.” Good advice, Madame Vice President.

Dan….you and Team Steady couldn’t have opted for a better choice in these times. The lyrics say what needs to be said and sung over and over again. “…music is a language we all understand. ….and opportunity for all to sing and dance and clap”. Wish we could all do it, together. I hope in the next few months, when you refer to Ms. Harris’s title, you can drop the word “Vice”. Madam President suits her just fine.
Trump doesn’t understand pure joy. Vice President Kamala Harris exudes joy and that is one of the many things that is so appealing about her.
