I can't even believe how long that me and my family have been listening and reading your insights . I grew up to your reports on the news. Agree or disagree you were always the consistent and trusted commentator in our household and thank you for the thoughtful considerations.

Since I retired and then my husband passed away, for whom I was his sole caregiver, I have gradually relearned ways to take care of myself: reading, painting, gardening, and finally rejoining my church choir. It took many months of grief counseling to gradually regain these joys: it doesn’t happen overnight. I feel that all these joys, and contact with distant family and friends, will help me to live a longer and happier life!

Thank you for this post - it's only too easy to forget to take care of ourselves amid some of the chaos that seems to keep popping up ion our lives these days. Dan, take care of you and yours.

And you and Mr. Kirchner do likewise. We desperately need the oasis of sanity that you provide.

I so appreciate your passing along your thoughts and views of life. I can always hear your voice when I'm reading these. I rarely let toxic people hurt me because it raises my blood pressure and blood sugar and probably a few other things. I have trained myself to think of them as hurting in some way that has nothing to do with me. I teach others. I have an oxytocin tattoo on my chest for educating the nursing students I teach. And my license plate reads oxytocin. I want people to know how to raise that internal hormone and its benefits in building up the immune system. Carry on and keep writing.... I will keep reading.

Thank You. It is truly appreciated as this has been a rough time in our world and lives. So thank you for reminding us to stay grounded and enjoy the beauty. I have one of the most beautiful views daily and it does allow me to pause and stay quiet.

Thank you for your inspiration. At 71, I've been taking several yoga teacher trainings after working as an English Prof at a Canadian university over 32 years. The balance and physical/philosophical support I receive from my yoga is a wonderful supplement to my long-time activism and engagement in feminist politics. But it is always good to be reminded by those we admire to take care of what matters to our wellbeing. Stay safe and take care tyou you both. Sincerely,

Thank you, Gentlemen! Sometimes when I feel nervous now I think „Steady!“. Because the meaning of the word is soothing for itself. It calmes me. But there‘s more. I think of all you write here, it gives me hope somehow. Like a beacon of light in all the chaos surrounding all of us. A voice of reason to turn to. Where I feel understood. Friendly and steady greetings from Germany.
