I'm appreciating President Joe more and more. He loves the people and wants the best for the little guy! Coming from a modest background and making reference to it often, speaks volumes to me. God bless you President Joe. Continued good health in your service to our nation!!

I hope he does, because he’s proven again and again that there’s no better man for the job.

Slow and steady wins the race and I have every confidence in our President to implement everything he has promised. With the help of those in Congress to initiate his plans into bills that we can stand behind we will see progress. You don’t change horses mid stream.

Thinking of Beyoncé, who has still to win an album of the year Grammy. She won some awards this year for her new music, Renaissance, but not the coveted Album of the year. Harry Styles, who won the Album of the Year Grammy, will be a drop in the pan, while Beyoncé will be around a long long time IMO. Be patient, Beyoncé, your Album of the year Grammy will come along with a life-time-achievement award later. Of course, Beyoncé was gracious beyond expected and she continues to work hard and make great music. A lot like Joe.

I thought President Biden’s speech was great. He spoke with confidence and strength. He showed his humorous side. He spoke to ALL of America with that twinkle in his eye! Bless our Republic!

I have often thought about the derisive tone used by many of his detractors as they pronounce Joe Biden "old". In Joe's case, that's "old" as in "old fox".

Dan Rather's excellent assessment of Joe Biden's patient handling of the State of Union address was spot on, except when he fell into the journalistic trap of achieving a balance between the two political parties, by lauding Ronald Reagan's generational influence on American politics and economy. This is where I beg to differ. The Gipper may have had a sense of humor and amiable winks. But if there is one President whose policies negatively impacted this country for nearly two generations, it was Reagan. Reagan hated government, even though he had spent all his entire life working in government. His memorable claim that the "the nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government, and I'm here to help." So while he railed against big government he instituted the biggest tax cut of all time that benefited the rich in his 1981 budget proposal.

California had the best public university system in the country. But he was so resentful of the youngsters with loud mouths that he abolished the tuition-free program that had been the hallmark of California, home of the high-tech industry for generation, an action that led to the current crushing student debt phenomenon.

He allowed race tropes against African Americans as a method of winning elections.

It's easy to immortalize the departed. Unfortunately, Reagan's policies wreaked havoc on tiny central American countries like El Salvador, Nicaragua and the tiny Caribbean nation of Grenada. The long neglect of our infrastructure began under Reagan.

Dan Rather was a mature journalist during Reagan's tenure and it is understandable why he would have the urge to make comparisons. I for one, am unimpressed by Reagan's legacy. There is a clear distinction between Biden's current effort to make government work for the people again. Biden might as well claim the nine most WELCOME words in the English language are: "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help!"

Who is the alternative to Biden?

I was in elementary school when Reagan was elected.

I remember my mom did not like him. I remember he wanted to label catsup as a vegetable. I remember my biological father, blue collar worker, said he was going to vote for Reagan because Reagan would cut taxes.

That’s all I remember of that 8 years.

Now, after having studied the history of the Republican Party and what the Reagan Revolution has done to our country, I would love to hear from people that were old enough at that time to tell me what the majority of Americans thought about Reagan and the polices of the Republicans at that time.

Did people not notice when he slashed social programs? Or, finance and corporate regulations?

Anything people can share of their memories of that time, would be appreciated.

Thank you.

President Biden is a seasoned statesman, and informed by his many years public and private challenges. He knows his way around the globe, and intrinsically understands the dynamics of politics, of countries, of humans.

What musical is that from, Along came Joe, slow walking Joe, tall lean lanky slow talking’ Joe? In a good way. Was that Damn Yankees?

The best thing Biden can do is operate in a completely different manner than his political opponents. The difference is striking and the results equally impressive. Maybe the way we should all be operating in this contentious environment.

Only in the US is being old a liability. In other cultures the Elders are considered an asset, listened to, consulted, respected. I can’t understand why so many fail to look at what Biden has accomplished and grumble about his age. I for one ( and a few million more Americans) opted for him bc we were looking for experience, honesty, political savvy, and yes, even a father figure to calm us all down after the maniacal, dishonest, self aggrandizing, man child that held office before.

If he runs again, I’ll vote for him again.

But the damn democrat es better get a lot better at messaging their accomplishments. They need to be able to change people’s perceptions of him. This is a good man, doing a good job.
