U2 song One is a great song 🎶

And l will have to admit I have listened to Johnny Cash singing his song One 🎶 and it’s really good too.

Happy Birthday to one of the best reporters and anchors ever. We worked together at CBS in the 1970s though our paths never crossed. Your sensitivity has been a hallmark of your brilliant carer, and given the tumultuous world scene it’s still much too early to say a final Good Night. We need your observations much too much, Dan.

Happy Birthday Dan! Just found out that you were born in October 31 and think that you are special by arriving on this day! Hope that you have a very wonder-filled Birthday and much joy, peach, love and laughter.... in spite of all of the things you know are sad and yet you help us learn! Blessings always, Sharon A. K.

Bono and the whole crew made some amazing songs - and the one about people being not the same but having to carry each other is so very true - then and even more now! Thank you for showing this in your Reason to Smile.... but I have to stop seeing the news all the time or my tears just go on and on!

I am not closely connected to pop music, but I strongly support the idea that “we are all one, but not all the same”. Otherwise, there is no America.

A very happy birthday to our

“ Dan Rather “”. I hope and pray he has the best of good health and a long life ahead. I hope and pray he continues to convey and convince the people of United States of America, in particular and the world at large, that the Pen is mightier than the sword. We need people with his kind of wisdom all the time but more so in these troubled times.

To quote from “ sin to kill a mocking bird”” , courage is not a man with a gun in his hand. Courage is you keep on fighting even if you are losing, till death yields the final game.

A very happy and a safe Halloween to all my brothers and sisters in United States.

My two cents, Sir. Enjoy your day.

I suppose I'm a dreamer ... still longing for UNITY, while honoring our differences. And still hoping that we'd somehow, some day learn to "give peace a chance."

I woke up this morning mindful that amid the sorrows of our shared humanity, there is cause for heartfelt gratitude for the life and service of MR. DAN RATHER on his BIRTHDAY! His accompaniment through the years, over decades and across the world, has made all the difference ... 🎶💜🎵

To quote another U2 song - "Invisible" - there is no them, there's only us...

One is such a classic. A video for this song with the band in drag was controversial at the time but it holds up and is quite beautiful. The interpretation of this song that hit me the hardest is that it is relaying a father in conversation with his son who is dying of AIDS. At a U2 concert, this is a highlight with the stadium/arena lights turned off and the audience completely in the dark, but for the lights on their phones: like thousands of fireflies lighting up the night sky. It's quite moving and stunning every.single.time. The Sphere version is nothing short of spectacular.

I saw this concert, then 18 years later I saw them at the Sphere just a few weeks ago. They still sing this One— it’s just as powerful though perhaps its meaning has morphed even for them. And for the listener, we can all understand One in different ways too.

Beautiful song, and it took me down the rabbit hole of listening to it by other artists such as Mary J. Blige, which Bono did a version w/. Thank you for sharing it...I hadn't listened to it in quite awhile. Very poignant given the times we are going through.
