Thank you Mr Rather. You give me reason to hope we will not fall into dictatorship. You have for 55 years given me reason to hope with your truthful reporting. Though as you can tell truth used to be a component of reporting.
I certainly agree with Mr. Rather giving us hope, but we also need to accept the responsibility to work as hard as we can to make sure trump is not reelected and that at least some of his minions are not reelected. I feel confident that the vast majority of readers of Steady are doing all we can, but maybe somehow we can dig a little deeper, maybe somehow encourage someone else to contribute in what ever way they can to the cause.
Norah Jones put out videos on YouTube during the pandemic that were just what you say, Mr. Rather. A balm for the soul, a brief escape from lockdown stresses and so much death. Recorded from a living room (?), her piano playing and soothing vocals were a gift.
Dan….Norah Jones is definitely a reason to smile and a reason to stay steady. She is a great musician/vocalist. Her ever so talented and brilliant father once said “the quickest way to reach godliness is thru music”. Her music, and that of many others, makes me feel godly and true. Thank you for the tribute to her and for soothing us with your “balm” every Sunday.
I really listen to any vocal music but I do love Norah Jones the first time I heard her -not knowing who her dad was I thought -wow this reminds me of Ravi Shankar!! I first heard him in an outdoor concert sitting on the grass at University of Hawaii. Does anyone else hear the connection?
Thank you, Mr. Rather, for educating and informing us of the going’s on in the world. Truthfully, I may add. These days truth is very easily manipulated. Sir, thank you for your reporting and even at this age when a lot of people throw in the towel.
I only had to read the message line in my email in box....Norah Jones a reason to smile and I was smiling! And of course the content of the message was even better! Thank you for this reason to smile! Always appreciated!
Thank you, as always, I enjoy (and save) every single post. I love Norah Jones, her voice and her music. I am thrilled to have, at long last, tickets to see her this summer. She (and you) are indeed a reason to smile.

Has an angelic voice similar to the late Eva Cassidy . . . .
Eva Cassidy, my favorite singer was an angel which was why I believe she was with us such a short time.
Oh me too! Love love Eva Cassidy right from here in DC area! Sang with Chuck Brown in her day.
I will find on YouTube, and listen to Eva Cassidy. I'd never heard of her! GOD bless.
I never heard of Eva Cassidy. I will find on YouTube and listen to her as well. GOD bless.
Highly recommend Eva’s beautiful songs.
I play Eva’s songs regularly. Hers was an angel’s voice; so glad she was able to record a few albums before leaving us.

@Dan Rather Thank you for such a lovely wake-up ... and for all you have done and are doing to bring sanity to our political world.
Your voice is balm in these chaotic times, Mr. Rather

My two cents, Dan.
Thank you
A wave of total peace came over me watching that video!
Thank you Dan Rather for always helping me find that. And thank you everyone who can always put someone else ahead of one’s’ own needs.
Happy Easter whether you are a big bunny or a hard boiled but colorful egg!

Absolutely beautiful. This started my morning in the best way possible. Calming.
Good Day and Thank You Dan and Your Team.
Happy Easter.
When Easter next comes, may America still be Free and The Country that most of us Americans Love.
If there is a GOD, may GOD see fit to protect our Country from The Devil and his Minions that await at our front door.
Music is Food for the Soul.
Peace & Best Regards to Us All.
Agreed!
