I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY OUT STEADY BEFORE SUBSCRIBING & I DID. I FOUND IT TO BE JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER VITRIOLIC SITE OUT THERE. THEREFORE I'M NOT GOING ANY FURTHER ALONG ON IT BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL SAFE POSTING MY POINT OF VIEW.

I AM NO LONGER POSTING ON STEADY BECAUSE IT WAS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT WE WERE ALLOWED TO HAVE A POINTS OF VIEW WITHOUT ATTACKING OR BEING ATTACKED & I AM NOT SEEING THAT. IF I CANNOT FREELY MAKE A STATEMENT WITHOUT FEELING ATTACKED, I'M DONE.

Well Dan, you just made my week. Don't know how I missup ed the Antarctic windmills, thanks for that in particular. While the Texan Republican contingency has been trying tirelessly to blame the blackout on the yet to be realized Green New Deal, Democrats like AOC and Beto have been committing random acts of humanity while local Republicans are telingl those plunged into a waterless darkness to grab their bootstraps.

Hope you and your wife are warmed up with running drinkable water.

Thank you.

Thank you for this blog. You write with integrity, compassion, AND accuracy. I long admired you as a newsman. I'm almost as old as you; had family members and friends who were journalists. You rank with the best. We have a geochemist son and family who lived and worked on the Gulf coast for 25 years. The politics of Texas and the environment; their disdain for "government" and "regulation" was obvious. Any state content to let beautiful Gulf beaches become trash disposal sites is a menace.Texas evades common standards of civic responsibility. Insisting on their own unregulated state power grid is just one aspect. I happen to be a retired political scientist with many years experience in the former communist countries of Eastern Europe, including living there. I came to see Texas as possessing some of their worse of those states when GOP took control. The infrastructure was crumbling, the ruling plutocrats had no accountability, environmental concerns were never addressed. Communism provided better schools and medical care. I never thought Texas would collapse so dramatically. It's heartwarming that you're willing to work to save it. Please keep it up!

Nikki Haley...she spoke negative against her leader and she is female. She asked for a meeting with trump, but turned down.

Mitch McConnell...spoke negative, then acquitted. Then again, spoke negative against his leader (hinting about other legal actions) against trump, and Mitch is a male. He is in Florida now...will trump meet with this one?

If we as humans used NASA, money, we have to pay in taxes, to help our planet and people it would be a far greater achievement for humankind.

NASA can get on patreon, or people who want to and can afford to waste more time and money on trashing space and other planets can do so and live and die with those consequences.

It really is possible.

The military industrial complex is a whole other disgusting topic of discussion.

Being a resident of New York it is difficult to believe that any U S state would be devastated by sub freezing temperatures.

My condolences to all of those that endured the tragedies of the loss of power, water and life. It is totally unacceptable that any U S state be so ill prepared in the 21st century.

Question: Why is Ted Cruz still a U S Senator? Perhaps a recall is in order. Or, at the bare minimum, censure Cruz.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you through this devastating period. Stay strong!

We can land on Mars but can’t keep water pipes from bursting in Texas 😮

The Perserverance landing is amazing and a true technological feat. Let’s focus on our globe and it’s massive challenges of illness, starvation, and racial inequity. I’m confident Mars has none of these problems. Well, maybe it did. Think about it.

And just when you think it can’t get any worse, Missouri announced they are considering a “Rush Limbaugh Day.”

It's very difficult to find somebody who is more public with their lack of self-awareness than the trump children, but Ted [Backpfeifengesicht!] Cruz gives them a serious run for their money more often than not.

Dan, as a senior on fixed income I can't (sadly) afford to subscribe to Steady. I am however enjoying what you send out for free. I have always been one of your fans and it is so good to have honest commenting from you.

A perfect summary of this last week. Perseverance is wonderful. And my grandsons just are coming back home to CA after the week from hell in Texas, where they went for waterpolo tournament. They were with good, smart friends, but the situation was life threatening and inescapable for days. They come home older and wiser in ways they didn’t expect
