Two of the most meaningful poems to me are Dylan Thomas' Do Not Go Gently Into That Good Night and William Blake's Jerusalem. I have seen the light and I have seen the dying of the light. January 6th was an example of the dying of the light.
Today was a difficult day and, despite being a day late, I'm glad I saved this to read/watch. Happy (day late) Valentine's Day. Here's hoping the next one allows us to all be closer.
P. S. It was 42 years ago my husband proposed to me in a Valentine. After signing his name he wrote, "P. S. Will you marry me?" Of course I said yes and that began a long journey together. We have weathered cancer (me), heart attack and bypass (him), the loss of all four parents. But, that said it has been an "E Ride" as they used to have years ago at Disneyland. I would do it again. Your poem reminded me of that. Thanks!
Well, Dan, you did it again. Brought tears to my eyes. I look forward to your email "Steady". I am happy to "go steady" with you. You put into words so eloquently what I feel but often times cannot put into words. Steady on! Keep them coming!
Beautiful! Happy Valentines Day Dan! I have used this time in gratitude and soul searching. I am blessed with good health, an amazing daughter and my two pups! Thank you for your continued words that soothe my soul! 💜💜💜
That's Gentle not Gently
