A Reason To Smile

You might have noticed that we try to choose upbeat songs to put a smile on your face every Sunday. So when I got to thinking about my favorite Christmas songs, I struggled a bit because they tend toward more somber hymns.

Then I remembered an interview I did a few years back with Michael Bublé, who can’t help but make you smile when he sings. His honey-rich baritone is tailor-made for Christmas music. His version of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” is a holiday season must and this week’s reason to smile.

The song was made famous by Darlene Love in 1963, with Cher singing background vocals. Six decades later, Cher recorded her own version with help from Love. The Christmas classic has been covered dozens of times by everyone from U2 to Mariah Carey.

Rolling Stone magazine put “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” at the top of its Greatest Rock and Roll Christmas Songs list. We hope you agree.
