Dan, this is the greatest gift you could have given me! I discovered the Car Karaoke video with James and Sir Paul during Covid and I watched it over and over. Several parts brought tears to my eyes and all of it made me sing along. With all the nasty and evil Trump stuff going on, I was thinking I needed to go look for that video and lo and behold! You shared it today! I love you and I am forever grateful for you. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ’™

Thank you Mr. Dan!!! What a wonderful reason to smile. The Cordon video had me smiling and at the end tears of joy. I was 8 when the Beatles burst on the American music scene, and I never looked back. And thank you for the original I Want To Hold Your Hand. Smiling hugely here!

I remember my English grandmother hurrying our family back to her house from a restaurant to see the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. Naturally, the old tube TV set started with audio first, so we heard the introduction, and soon after, there they were in crisp B&W. I was only 4 at the time, but I cherish the memory.

Thanks, Dan Rather, for transporting me back to my early high school years when β€œ I Want To Hold Your Hand’ made its debut! A magical trip as I traveled with Paul McCartney and James Corden through London while they recaptured The Beatles’ journey. Dan Rather, you always help us find a reason to smile on Sunday after a week of dreary and devastating news ! πŸ₯°

And the Rolling Stones performed in Vancouver yesterday. No one is claiming THESE old dues can't perform!

While I love the Beatles and what they brought to the world, I went to see my first and only Rolling Stones concert a few years ago and was blown away! I begged my husband to please go to one of their concerts on this tour, but it’s a long ways for us to travel and he just couldn’t muster the enthusiasm.

Thanks. Dan! I'd seen this before but it means so much more since my wife and I visited Liverpool this spring. A wonderful city in its own right, its Penny Lane, with the nearby shelter in the roundabout, the firehouse, the bank, and the barbershop bring it all into focus. Strawberry Fields, near John's home, is an amazing story too.

Having strolled in some of the same areas, this brought a huge smile from end to end.

This is the BEST Carpool Karaoke ever done. Sir Paul was, and always has been the consumate gentleman, songwriter, musician and performer ever. That he's endured all these years and stayed on the charts is historic and unsurmountable. I praise, love, and admire him.

Dan,

Thank you for that enlightening moment. My wife and I completely appreciate it! Though we did see it when it aired, the clip did make us smile (again) and gave us a little bit of extra goodness this evening.

As we watched this, we said to

Each other how lucky we are to have lived through the Beatles and still have Paul McCartney, what a treasure he is!

Then we thought the exact same thing about you.

Thank you, Dan for always being A great American, human and conduit for what is right. Just like Paul McCartney, as we look to him to brighten our day, so we look to you to remind us that we are good and capable of being great! You are a treasure as well and I feel so grateful to still have you contributing to our lives.

If you ever have a chance to go to Liverpool, you can hire a cab to take you to all the Beatles sites, and when you are in Penny Lane, you can actually see those places described in the song, and that alone is worth the trip. Also, if you have the time, they also have stuff on the Titanic.

Sooooo, you went down onto the titanic?

Expand full comment

No, but when I was there, they have the passenger list and the bios of some of the folks who went down. They also have some artifacts.

I think people forgot that Liverpool is a ship building city, and it's also one of the ports the Titanic is on (ship is registered in Liverpool) before it docked at South Hampton to receive the passengers.

The South Street Seaport in New York City has a light house memorial for Titanic also.

Thanks Dan. The video of Paul and James definitely had me smiling, laughing and crying. It also kept my stressed mind not thinking of Joe Biden for 25 minutes. Thanks for sharing.

I LOVED the video of Paul in Liverpool. I would have paid lots of money to be a part of the crowd in the pub. Wonderful! Thank you for that.
