It is very possible that Karma is finally paying former President Trump a visit. This former President may finally reap what he has sown over his lifetime. His father Frederick Trump Sr. shielded him from responsibility when he was growing up. This man had wealthy benefactors to help him avoid responsibility also. In the very end, peoples wrongdoing will catch up with them.

We live in a country where a significant portion of the population is somehow under the influence of a mind-altering substance that results in a break from reality. All it will take to blow another hole in the country is one, just one apparently, of those to be on the jury of the T trial(s).

Well said! Enough is enough it is time for him to be accountable for his actions including January 6th!

The obnoxious bully that he is will be on full display confirming his narcissism and cynical nature. He acts like a spoiled child who is the victim, never responsible for his actions, and words. If he is not convicted by a jury of the people they can’t see the trees for the forest. Winston Churchill was quoted as saying about Americans that you can count on Americans to do the right or correct thing eventually. True markings of fascists is to blame the institutions, the media, the other for the failings of a culture or society. Hugging the flag ironically doesn’t make one a patriot. The last place scoundrels hide behind is the guise of calling themselves patriots. It is about constitutional law, Rule of Law, we are all subject to Rule of Law or we have anarchy, and or fascism.

re: "allegedly absconding with, mishandling, and obstructing the return of classified document" - there is nothing alleged about any of these points (they are all already in the public record)--also, why abscond vs steal? Abscond sounds trivial, light-hearted even.

"serious, not flippant". That quote in my opinion is critical. Because Trump is innocent until proven guilty the country needs a person who will do his job correctly. Not because he hates Trump but because it is the correct thing to do.

If we as a country are to turn us around we must do two things.

The first seems to be in good hands as per your reporting. The second is not.

How can we have any confidence that the system is acting in a non political way when president Biden had the same type of documents in three separate places that were not under surveillance, hell, one of them were in a unlocked garage.

President Biden must either be indicted also or an explanation for why he is not must be given.

If it is because he is a sitting president , fine, but tell the public. By indicting one and saying nothing about the second leaves the public questioning the whole thing.

Mr Rather, we can only hope that this is the moment where accountability is delivered. As you say, for many years he has flaunted accountability and responsibility and Americans have paid the price for his behaviour.

What astounds me is the number of people who refuse to believe he has done anything wrong and that he is the victim. Many of his followers continue to provide financial benefit even though they may not be in a position to afford this.

The man has no soul, therefore knows no remorse. His all caps rant are for his base and I fear he will incite more destruction and chaos as a result.

Thank you as always for shining light where there is darkness.

I think Trump's rise to power was not so much because of any genius. It was because he learned at an early age that if you get the dirt on people who can help or hinder you then have the ability to bend them to your will. He also learned that bluster and publicity helped add a veneer of power, intelligence and acumen that, when surrounded by people who have those qualities and will do your bidding, makes the world believe the lie. And now that he has escaped accountability for decades we can only hope that he will finally have to pay the piper.

I lived through Nixon and Watergate, but at no point did I truly fear for our country. November, 2016, created feelings of uncertainty and anxiety. I told myself I was overreacting, and Trump couldn’t be that bad. I was so wrong. I never imagined that an American President would attempt to destroy this country for personal gain. Now my fear is that he will not suffer the consequences of his actions.

We will only look BETTER to other nations. NO ONE is above the law and Trump has never been ELECTED by the people of America to any office. He got that top job through gerrymandering and a small number of electoral college voters that don't represent the MAJORITY of Americans. And once in the job, he used it in all kinds of criminal ways that haven't yet even been fully charged. Still misuse of documents with information about nuclear capabilities. He put the entire WORLD in danger. I'm sure the WORLD is grateful we are not letting him get away with ALL his criminal activities.

HERE , HERE?!! Can it finally be? Can we be who we always were, defenders of liberty and honesty? Will the Constitution hold? Will Rule of Law hold for all of us? Or will we all hope to live elsewhere? We cannot bear this gross indignity.

If u read, Steady, then u might like, The good in us, by Mary Trump. She is djt’s niece. She too, writes a powerful piece against him. I love both what, Steady, has written describing what DT is about to face & Mary telling us what a dangerous fool Orange Head is

I’m going to have to jump ship again on news, which will now be swamped 24/7 with coverage of suckup republicans lying in support of trump and trump’s delusional outbursts and lies. Another media megaphone for the crazy republicans. It’s like Groundhog Day with this BS. We’ve been there, done that for six + years. Wake me up if we ever get some justice and someone finally shuts up that human turd.

Hopefully the GOP will see who the fools have been.

I believe in Special Counsel Jack Smith and the rule of law for justice for all and punishment for the treason that has been perpetrated on our country and its People.

Just hope he finally is made to pay. But not till he's cuffed & the door closes in him. Then every guard will be offered huge sums of money to do his bidding. Those who accept will be surprised when left holding an empty bag.
