My daughter started losing her hair at age 6. As an adult whose alopecia never went away (we were told some kids "outgrow" it in puberty) she has wrestled with much of the same things. She is beautiful, intelligent, kind and accomplished but says she knows the effects of going through middle school with no hair dramatically affected her personality. All of us who love her often wonder how life might have been different for her with hair - and of course, we'll never know. As one early doctor told us, "Alopecia is not life-threatening, but it IS life-altering". Truer words were never spoken. Thank you for sharing Molly Tuttle's story. It touched my heart deeply, and I, too smiled.
