I’m not quite ready to travel because I have concerns about those who have chosen not to vaccinate and continue to go out in public without a mask. My intention is not to challenge anyone for making this choice. It’s just that I have health issues that could be exacerbated by catching Covid, even though I’ve had both shots of the Moderna vaccine. I personally know a few people who have had both shots, yet they have come down with the Delta variant. They’ve both expressed how glad they are to have been vaccinated because they would be much sicker than they are had they chosen not to vaccinate. I realize it’s a small percentage of the population that have caught Covid Delta after receiving the vaccinations, but it’s still enough for me to continue using extra caution.

I've had COVID and a vaccine. I"m ready to travel. Although as a flight attendant I was considered an "essential employee" so never really stopped traveling. I'm just ready for things to open up so we can actually see sights when we travel. My one concern is for my daughter who is ten and not vaccinated yet.

So far, we have ventured only an hour or two from home. We fall in the vaccinated but cautious group. As mask mandates have been removed, we caught a viral bronchitis. So...maybe we will travel more....Memphis, Austin...but we will remain masked.

We are on a road trip right now and just finished visiting Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks. We felt comfortable doing this because we have been vaccinated, our activities were outdoors, and we traveled in our own car. I’m not ready to travel in more crowded situations and certainly not ready to cruise or travel internationally. I will wait until vaccine levels are higher for those types of travel.

Last summer we ventured out within our state three times in our travel trailer taking all our food with us and avoiding all places except gas stations to refill our tank. This year we have felt comfortable staying in motels and vacation rentals.

I have just returned from a trip to Italy and Greece. Of the 3 of us who traveled, only my 7 year old is unvaccinated. We were all required to get tested while we were away but it was worth it to be able to see the world again. I encourage everyone to get vaccinated and get traveling. The world is a very interesting place and must be seen to be appreciated! Masks were required in indoor spaces in both countries but no longer required outside. Both countries were mostly tourist free which made it so nice to be there. No crowds at all!

I plan to travel to California to visit familiy in October. We're all vaccinated, and I haven't seen my mom in two years :( We have also planned a trip to Greece next May to celebrate turning 60. We're really looking forward to it! We're both fully vaccinated and would be willing to do a booster if it's recommended by then.

I traveled from the West Coast to the East Coast early June. I’m fully vaccinated as is my husband and my oldest son, but my young daughter is not eligible. We were masks everywhere to protect her. I have to say a few days on the Cape, my sister, nephew (only one dose in) and I were the only ones wearing masks on the island it seemed and we felt like we were constantly getting the stink eye...

I have and still traveling this summer. I am going to 12 cities. (I am traveling by plane and train.) I am vaccinated and feel somewhat safe. [This delta variant is worrying me a bit.] I wear my mask indoors and leave it off outdoors. If I am with vaccinated friends, in their homes, we are not masked.

I am concerned that most places rely on the honor system. For example, most city rail/train/buses require masks, but everyone is not keeping their masks on or wearing them properly. I do wish we had some sort of vaccine passport/travel card. If we all do our part, then we will get out of this pandemic sooner rather than later.

We recently drove to New Orleans. It’s an 8-10 hour drive, depending on Houston traffic, but we are not ready to get on a plane just yet. We stayed in the Central Business District and found the hotel and restaurant staffs very welcoming and still very conscious of COVID protocols. Restaurant servers were wearing masks but mask use was sporadic among the general population. We enjoyed our trip but would not have gone had we not both been fully vaccinated.

Mostly short weekend trips within 2 to 6 hr driving time. two were hotel stays the others were camping trips. I have a 3 week land trip to Alaska coming up with 2 friends. All of us are fully vaccinated and most of our activities will be out doors. 1st week will be short distance flying to locations and the other 2 weeks we will have a car. I had two international trips this year postponed to 2022 so will see what happens with those.

My husband traveled for necessary business during the pandemic. He said it was eerie - empty planes, empty airports! Being fully vaxxed, we now plan to fly to Colorado to visit family and to Spain for an important meeting. We'll pay attention to hygiene, mask up as necessary, stay as healthy as possible, and heed any new advice and warnings that may be issued.

I have not traveled during the pandemic and have no plans to do so in the future, except possibly within my state (Massachusetts) or to Austin or Seattle to see family. Compared to you I'm an ignorant infant, but at 65 I would like to hug each of these folks one last time, especially since my only child is estranged from me.

I think the pandemic is here to stay. After Delta we'll see new mutations until we've reached the end of the alphabet and start e with a new one. Mostly effective, rushed vaccines will be as common as cereal brands.

Or course climate change may limit or eliminate travel for fun or for any reason.

Perhaps my thoughts are too steadily negative to publish. Thank you for at least giving me the chance to collect my feelings.

We will wait until September at the earliest, if even then. Delta variant is a concern asy S.O. is high risk. I live on a tourism area and have witnessed increasingly reckless and risky behaviors. Summer 2021 will be a near repeat of 2020, with addition of beach-going.

My sister and I, both in our 60s and completely vaccinated, just completed an 8,200 mile road trip from California to Maine and back. We went to see our 90-year-old mom. I normally go back two to three times a year, but, due to Covid, had not been back since February 2020. My sister is still working and had not seen Mom since 2018. There were two reasons we chose to drive: concern about flying and we needed to bring an old secretary desk back (shipping would have been cheaper). We had a wonderful adventure. We wore masks where required and didn’t where they weren’t. Most places had social distancing requirements and staff wore masks. We felt safe. We did not attend any large indoor or outdoor events. I’ll be camping for two weeks in August and will fly to Maine in October. Traveling has definitely returned for me.

My husband and I are in our 70's and have both completed the vaccinations. We still wear our mask when we are in markets, crowded places, etc. We are planning a road trip within our state at the end of July. We have not been more than 40 miles from our home since the pandemic began. However, neither of us feel comfortable enough to travel via air in the near future. Neither of us want to risk a confrontation with a person(s) who does not believe in science. At least not while we are 30,000 feet in the air. I believe in science and trust the CDC. Hopefully, more people will revise their thinking to include the vaccinations for themselves. We are all in this together, but some people have stipulations!

The only "travel"I did during the pandemic was on Bart (SF bar area). That was really great - no crowding people in. I have my first out of town trip in September, driving to Tahoe. We'll probably just be around people outside. Then my first flight to the east coast in Oct. That makes me nervous. My immune system is compromised and even though I've been vaccinated, I can't afford to contract even a light case of covid. Have two friends that were fully vaccinated that contracted covid. Fortunately, they're younger and had light cases but it's still worrisome to risk being around all the folks that are choosing not to get vaccinated. Ever new case gives the virus a chance to get smarter again. It's only purpose is to survive so viruses will fight to their proverbial death to survive.
