Thank you, Dan. Somewhat of a non-sequitur, but I just saw that Dolly Parton has made a $1M donation towards the Hurricane Helene relief efforts, and her contribution is being matched by her businesses for a total of $2M.
I saw John Denver in his last concert here in Corpus Christi and was so close it felt like he was singing just to me at times. Miss that type of singing.
There’s a wonderful singer who looks like John Denver who lives in Estes Park, CO. He has been a park ranger in Rocky Mountain National Park and does a show in the town park some evenings, and does a John Denver tribute show. His name is Brad Fitch. If you are ever there, he is really good.
Wow Dan! Perfect. That made me more than smile; it made me happy. The singing and the video support were wonderful. Really a tribute to the world. …”a real dream like sensation”.
Perfection. Dad was a country music fan. I was rock and roll but there’s something about beautiful voices blending together perfectly that can’t be beat. Thank you.
During these tumultuous and scary times, it’s so important to take a minute and appreciate the beauty that we just have to listen for and see all around us. Thank you Dan, I really needed to hear that beautiful music this Sunday morning.
While I'm not an all-around fan of country music, these songs reach beyond genre. They are simple beautiful in their own unique ways; together the songs blend into a a feel good of appreciation and talent. My thanks to Dan for this morning treat. The sun does rise every day!
Dolly Parton is a Good Person, and a great American treasure. Even though she isn't among my favorite singers, she is among my favorite people, and I'd listen to her any time, anywhere.
Dear Dan Rather, I just watched the documentary about you, and I am so very glad to be on your team. What a fine person you are. Be well, and thank you for your wise and steady leadership now and in the past. And I always just love “A reason to smile” every week.
As always, thank you Dan for our Sunday Smile. I was inspired to do some research about the "Forever Country" project. Here is a list of the performers in order of their appearance.
Thank you, Susan AND Dan! I had never seen/ heard this and was wishing I knew who some of the unfamiliar (to me) singers were. A perfect compilation and a perfect list.
Now if they would all get together and follow suit as Dolly did (she contributed $2M for victims of Helene) and help out more victims that would be wonderful!

This wins the internet this morning! Thank you Dan!
That was beautiful. But it made me cry. John Denver was and is still my very favorite, and what Dolly has done is beyond beautiful.

Thank you, Dan Rather. This is a nice break from all the political noise.
I’m a northeasterner who has lived in the south and this is lovely. Almost gives me hope for our future

Thanks SO much for the lift. What a treat, Dan.

I have played this video more times than I can count. It is a wonderful mashup of three iconic songs. Thank you for this lovely Sunday smile.
