Happy fathers days to all men. By the way you men if you have a girl that is sort of what is termed a tomboy, I would suggest you encourage her to pursue interests in things that boys traditionally get interested in. If your girl wants to get into traditional male dominated fields, I believe the father is the one to encourage this tomboy like girls.

As my middle school kids would say:

"You guys rock."

Thanks, "boys" for choosing both songs.

Those videos were “lovely.” It’s interesting how much more we seem to appreciate our parents when they have gone. I remember when I was little I loved my father and always wanted to please him. At around 18 I felt like he knew nothing and I knew it all. At 45, I finally realized that he knew everything and I knew nothing. Now that he is gone, I miss his stories, his wisdom, his kindness. I wish that he was here with me to help me with the ups and downs of life. I will always have good memories to bring me comfort.

For Dads Young and Younger

Be the best you can be…today and tomorrow

Happy Father’s Day

What it takes to be a stand up guy

taking care of your family never asking why

Always present and forever loyal

giving them your best for they are royal

True to the end of a wonderful life

anything less will cut like a knife

Don't imagine anything but your best

give them your all and eternally rest

On this legacy you can stand

you’re a great father and a hell of a man

When you get to the

entrance of the Pearly Gates

You’ll hear these words, "Come in my

son, there is no wait"

One of the best Father's day videos I've ever seen by Brad Paisley 👏

Kinda reminds me of why we have a Heavenly Father too that loves us no matter what

"He didn't have to be," brings me to tears. The son we acquired when he was 16 years old--birth parents who didn't want to be "bothered" with him and serious trauma all around--asked me to listen to that as his eulogy for my husband. What this abandoned teen, now a 20-year Army veteran with children, grandchildren, and the same wife he'd married when they were 18, said publicly was "He showed me how to be a husband and father." Neither of us could have made it through the celebration of life if he'd played that song then. We can't underestimate the influence of a quiet and faithful man who takes fatherhood seriously.

Thank you for a reason to smile on this Father’s Day. At the end of his life our relationship became quite contentious, I can appreciate all the wonderful things I learned from my father that made me the woman I am today, 78 years later.

A nice piece. I was a single father (well, I still am!). It was hard, but it is even harder to be a stepparent. I salute anyone in that role.

My favourite song for a new born child is ‘For Each Child that’s Born, a Morning Star Rises ….. and sings to the Universe,….. Who we are….’ By Sweet Honey on the Rock’. I sang it to my first grandson in his crib in the ward at the hospital a few minutes after he was born. The song is on You Tube; lyrics on line - check it out! It is a true hymn to every soul that is part of humanity and their place in the universe. I am now 77 years old, and said grandson is 24.
