I have abandoned the term “ resistance” for what I feel is a more proactive term, “ opposition”. To me, resistance harkens back to World War II, and the citizen soldiers committing acts of sabotage and subterfuge through a network of hidden shelters. Opposition, to me, says loud and clear.
The social network Bluesky has been recommended to me by others. Your recommendation seals the deal for me.
on a more personal note, Mr. Rather , Eva Cassidy‘s version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow could possibly bring you an entirely different interpretation of our longing for possibilities.
The hope I had that day and evening fed me for decades. Of course it didn’t hurt that my husband and I were avid fans of Fleetwood Mac (we wore out several cassettes)! Whatever Clinton’s faults he was brilliant in choosing great economic advisors and he was incredibly compassionate toward all Americans.
Thank you, Mr. Rather. Like many on this thread, I'm off media for today, except for you. No TV (until the CFB National Championship), only skimmed the paper, not on social media (by choice, not inability or age, as they so condescendingly always imply), and will hope for the best.
Today (Monday) is a good day to turn off the TV and pick up a good book to read. It's also a good day to support Penzey's Spices. Bill Penzey is a staunch supporter of democracy, and their spices are excellent, as well. I just picked up a couple gift cards that I will be giving to friends or strangers to help them spice up their meals. I'll be sharing a lot of hugs in the coming days, weeks, and months. Keep the faith. Stay STEADY.
Thanks Mr Rather. This is so hard. I’m celebrating MLK and all of us who have worked to make the dream of equality a reality ….. I’m off all media for today. We must keep resisting
Following you now on Bluesky; glad you have started an account over there. Thank you for these Reasons to Smile, and thank you for being here with us on Steady. I know this will be a challenging year for you as you move forward with your grief and I hope you know how beloved you are by us, your subscribers and readers. Take care of yourself.

With the greatest respect and fondness, Judy.
Thank you, we know you will give us truth. That’s all we want is unvarnished truth. Thank you for all the years of just that.
Just followed you on bluesky, I need your steadiness on every platform!
Thank you, Dan Rather. You are a "smile" to help me think though things.
Honoring the Great MLK Jr today.. It is how i started my day.
No TV or Social Media today...
Best pick for a particular week, ever, Dan. We need to hold this song close over the next four years.

Thank you for your commitment to providing this community with the facts. It is invaluable!

Same here — deleting even e-mails from NYT, etc. And sharing some MLK quotes with friends. THAT is a man to celebrate.
Thank you Mr. Rather for all you do.
We appreciate it.

Stay Spicey
Love Penzey’s.
Thank you Mr Rather. As always you give me hope. I will not stop resisting. I will continue to stay informed.
Thank you, good sir knight, for all you and your team do to contribute to the common good.
