It is more than rooting out political rivals. His intent is to eradicate anyone who disagrees with him permanently. It's openly discussed on back channels. The Evangelists accidently getting gum owner records was a farce. The Arizona ballot check was an excuse to determine who voted against him as Arizona has no gun records. They were rooting out who would be against them with guns. Therefor likely to fight back. If you saw the reports of soldiers going door to door checking phones for proof of not supporting Putin or know that Kim Jung has eradicated anyone over a age to remember freedom as well as nit a working age or disabled, that is an example of Trumps playback. Make no mistake he has enlisted their aid as well as the Taliban by handing over Afganistan to help get rid of the common people 'to prevent future discourse so it won't happen again.' This sounds crazy but as a population control it will be easier to control less people who support him.

It will also put the fear into those left what will happen should they oppose him. Read Projuct 2025 from www.theheritagefoundation.org

He must never get elected again!

I feel we are already living in a dictatorship since Biden has clearly gone full bloodlust genocide against all humanity. Trump was awful, but Biden now is worse in my eyes. And believe me— I became a citizen to vote for Dems. Wasn’t worth it, I think.

Expand full comment

I don't think anyone wants a dictator. Would anyone really vote for that? What are the Trump supporters believing? Have they heard the alternative happenings, like what a news reporter might report?

He's got them refusing to hear or think anything but what he says.

I want Joe Biden as my dictator, say by October. But I would still want to know what the voters say, so, still have them vote.

I want Dan Rather or Stephen Colbert seemingly about the only public people irreplaceable and honest with morals. Biden is right up there with them agreed though. Lol

Maybe I was smart, prescient, moving to France in 2018? Maybe a coward? Maybe a little of both.

I give to candidates I think have a chance to win and do some good, on the local and statewide levels. I was in the fray myself once, as a pol and a public servant.

Immigration, especially of Polish Jews, fueled Nazism in Germany in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s. There are loud echoes today in the US and in Europe.

Read Chapter 7 in my book, “Paris Histories and Mysteries: How the City of Lights Changed the World,” to get a glimpse of the problem that arose for Polish Jews in Germany in 1937-38….

The media failed us badly and all I can do is hope that they see the danger ahead and will just tell it the way it is. But let’s face it , some of the media drank the Kool Aid years ago.

How unimaginable it is to think in this country that gave life and treasure to defeat a couple of dictators who started WWII, now have the potential to elect one of our own. How is that possible?? Dictators, to stay in power need scapegoats that they promise to get rid of, for their supporters to hate and stay loyal.

Us we are the vermin he speaks of and he plans to eradicate us all just as Kim Jung has done. And Putin is trying to do in the Ukraine. It will insure those supporting him stay loyal out of fear. He's doing it sneakily on back channels and soon they will make a move election or not.

Most dangerous to helping him dismantle democracy is the current GOP Congress and complicit media playing a game of both sides and peddling disinformation.

I also find it interesting that not only you mention this today, but many others are as well; Dictators. If you and your awesome readers will indulge me a few moments, I'll post below in italics my thoughts that I posted elsewhere in a few spots where I share my deeply and long owned thoughts at times. See >>>

FB, Substack > " ... David Newhouse

..."Remarkable that you should mention Mussolini; as tfg - always known to me as OiD ( Orange il Duce), most resembles from history. iL Duce was a populist too, not unlike OiD; in fact it would seem OiD has patterned himself much like the original iL Duce, in many, many ways - yet with a recognition of today's media illness' of a 24/7 news cycle and broadcast rookies / and or outright complicity. Today on another page I sometimes visit, I posted the following to a poster who seemed to recognize a piece of story I've know within me for nearly a decade now; That OiD is a copy cat of iL Duce 1st, and that media is either full of dupes or complicit. In italics, if you will indulge me a few moments of your time: .... " FB, 12.9.23>Brian Sharkey Precisely right Brian; that's exactly what he was after. He's taken a 'page' out of his master's playbook (tfg - aka orange Il Duce) in order to get his name played over and over again in the broadcast media - 'for free.' It's one of the oldest political ploys in the book; keep them (media) talking about you and your name - bad or good. "Infamy is as good as fame". No charge for that lesson; appropriation would be rare, but right. I learned that in union politics 101. *edit - The greatest shame I see is that the broadcast media still falls for it; further, that one would have to teach this to the media, or on any FB page to enlighten - especially where one would like to believe there are no political 'newbies.' I'd expound on this at length privately, but I dislike what social media has become in some aspects; a place to appropriate the thoughts, ideas, etc., of any or all others to own as originally owned; some of that may be innocent inherent bias, but I'm pretty sure it's more than that in some cases."

That is true. Using it as a victim gains him support and he's bragging about it. He never intended to Win in 2020. He wasn't ready to make the play he plans on now. He's used all of that for propaganda.

Dan…I sincerely hope that you are right when you say most Americans don’t want what Trump is promising. But what scares me is how we elect our Presidents, I.e., the electoral college. Should Trump succeed in a few of these states, I fear the outcome.

Congress loves all the debate about how to fix the southern border, and has loved it for over 75 years. Politicians could solve the border problem IF they wanted and it does not need a stupid wall.

We exported know-how and jobs to China, not Central America, and now we complain about illegals!

We dicked about in Central and South America politics and have created a complete shambles.

We obliterated any semblence of order in the Middle East, for oil and then because we didn't like their dictators, Gaddafi and Saddam, now we want to elect one here in America.

We have created more refugees in the last 40 years than any other government.

Well said Spectator; How much good does a 'wall' do for Israel ? And yes also to the notion that we *or more correctly, our govt. and idiot "capitains of commerce" ignored, to our ever peril, our own continent - long ignoring Central America which is part and parcel of. Bravo ! - *denotes edit in
