I subscribed 6/27 $50. My account has been debited twice 6/27 and 6/28. Of 2 phone numbers, one was an individual and the other never even rang. What gives?

By volunteering at VoteForward.org people from all over America can make a difference in the midterm election, right from their kitchen table (and nearest mailbox), by sending personalized get out the vote letters (minus your full name) to key voters who will provide the margin of victory Democrats need to hold the House and expand the Senate.

I truly hope Democrats can win 2 extra seats in the Senate and maintain or grow the lead in the House, but I am not seeing Democratic political signs anywhere in my neighborhoods (Sun City, AZ), only unbalanced Republicans' signs who want to hold onto power and tell the population what's best for them. And our AZ Legislature is the same - pushing only their agenda on everyone without making concessions for those who do not agree with them. The Supreme Court has gleefully lied to those that confirmed their judgeship and rushed to push 'conservative' viewpoints overcoming precedents against the majority of the American people and we have NO WAY to counteract them as long as they're in the majority. I made it to retirement and am in despair seeing the division in this country not using rational thought or letting people live their lives without being told by others how to do it. And the rush to destroy our planet (climate, air, water, ground, etc.) without protecting it.

I really hate how I am so pessimistic about what's happening and what's coming. Prior to the last administration, I used to be a hopeful person, believing good would win out. But now, I don't know. :(

As much as Americans are furious about recent Supreme Court decisions, when actually voting, people tend to vote their pocketbooks. To that extent, many of these commentators proposed very specific plans of action for Dems to take to win the upcoming election. I have been saying repeatedly that Senators and Representatives have to go to their districts and be very specific about what Dems have accomplished i.e. “see that bridge that’s falling down? Our program is providing money to fix it”. You want lower drug prices? Get us the votes in Congress to negotiate drug prices” Take every proposed program directly to the constituents and help them understand what will happen if these laws are passed and what will happen if they are not. Put the blame on Reps in Congress who consistently vote “no”. This is going to take work, just talking on TV or social media is not going to cut it. We are at war and if we don’t win we really will not have a country that many of us will want to live in.

This nonsense that Democrats getting two more Senators and keeping the House will solve all of our problems. That does not take into account that more Democrats in the House and or Senate will be purchased by oligarchs. Democrat politicians need to be more creative now. For example they should put forth bills that Americans want and force votes on each step. If they get voted down, they should change a few words and put the bills in again for consideration and force votes again. This kind of a method will get press attention and clarify for all how this system works and doesn't work.

I live in a Red State (SC) but I vote for Democrats all the time. My original conviction was that the Dems would be wiped out in November, but if they play an astute political game they might just be able to use the Roe decision to give us a clear Democratic majority in Congress. I have my doubts but hope they can pull it off.

After over 100 years of GOP/big$ Division tactics, I was thinking that maybe their authoritarian racist plans would be the downfall of our Country. Then President Biden won. And now with the George Floyd demonstrations, Climate involvement and the Roe v Wade decision, which are bringing many younger people out, the tide may have changed. I have my fingers crossed. Thank you, Dan and Elliot for allowing us to release some of our tensions.

Excellent post! I live in AZ, and worked hard to get Kelly and Biden elected. I will be working hard again to keep the Dems in office in the midterms and 2024.

I am actually registered as an independent as I have had issues with both sides of the aisle and have voted for whichever candidate I felt most represented my values, regardless of party. That is changing for me, I see the GOP as a clear and present danger to our Democracy and unless they unilaterally denounce Trumpism, I will never vote for a red candidate ever again

I don't understand how Dems, Indies & even Repubs are not terrified about more GOP control. They already have far more power to control the entire system than they should have. If people voted, made the states blue again & brought back the Fairness Doctrine so "entertainers" cannot lie about politIMO the EC is not helpful & only further erodes the will of the people. If good, decent people do not stand against the hate & violence Repubs have encouraged for 40 years

I have been a rabid Democrat since 1976 because of Newt Gingrich who was pushing what the Republicans have done for the recent years; corruption and blocking bills passed by the House for the people. But the Trump years told the world that there wasn't a crime that Trump could commit that the Republican party would hold him accountable for. And now the Republican Court are taking it upon their corrupt selves to rewrite history and take us back to the 50's. So I hope that Democrats, Independents and Republicans all vote for Democrats or really for justice and kick the corrupt Republicans out!

Americans cannot restore freedom simply by voting each and every Democrat out.

My position hasn't changed at all - I've been voting Democratic for decades now. I might agree on everything, but I at least want the chance to keep democracy alive in the U.S. And reproductive choice is a must. Without owning one's own body, there is no freedom.

I am an independent. I see, right now, Democrats having a shot at holding every one of the seats that are media-pronounced "toss-ups" (NH, GA, AZ, NV) and winning in PA, OH, NC, MO, IA-maybe even in FL). KY is also closer than it looks at first blush. Then, there is Utah, where an Independent, who may or may not caucus with Republicans, has a shot at winning.
