Jann Wenner was always a pin head. He was simply in the right place at the right time, Maybe not even that. Maybe he was like Bill Gates, WHO DID NOT INVENT MS-DOS. Gates bought it from the real genius who did, and just used market share to dominate the PC market. The real inventor later invented DR-DOS, which eliminated the Y2K problem. But Gates froze him out. So it went.
I don’t like what Jann Wenner said, but I also don’t care for the cancel attitudes against him. But he is irrelevant. The true magic of this post is in the two embedded videos, truly transcendent renditions of a great song. Magical. And listening and watching Joni Mitchell it is easy to imagine that everything that is wrong with the world can go away - including, especially, Donald Trump and his daily mockery of what the two videos represent.
Wow! I have been a Joni MItchell fan for as long as I can remember. I was in Chorus in 7th grade and we learned Both Sides Now as part of our music. The song has remained with me and for some reason as solemn as the subject can be it has always made me feel better. Great choice!
I was moved more than I thought I would be. Jann Wenner obviously did NOT see "Coda" nor attend the Newport Jazz Festival to hear Joni sing the song she may be best know for. These 2 performances plus Judy Collins' recording have to be the top 3 versions I've heard. Wonderful!!
Joni is my all-time favorite artist. Talk about artistry, intelligence, intuition, and beauty! And the ability to put all that into music and art to make a person see themselves! She is Queen undisputedly of mind beauty.
Wow. Thank you - for both versions of Joni Mitchell’s powerful and simple song. With all that’s going on now, I’m grateful to be reminded there’s still good in the world. Bless you, and thanks again.
CODA was the best use of this song ever. It makes me so glad a new generation of people get to experience its depth of meaning that we of the Boomer Era experienced while we were trying to make sense of our world as kids.
OMG! What a torrent of emotions surged thru me! I graduated from college in 1969 ... you evoked a lifetime of amazing and totally awesome emotional memories. THANK YOU
Omg... an actual tear... is someone in this room cutting onions?!?
Our Fathers of Rock always get their due, it's time to also honor our Mothers of Rock.Equallyso, both raised us. Thank you Mr. Rather.
I love you Dan Rather, for all the beauty you see in the world!! :o)

I know Joni Mitchell. Jann Wenner is no Joni Mitchell.

Thank you Dan. Brought a smile, a few memories, and a tear.
