The correct/actual terms are "anti-Jewish" & "anti-Jew". "Anti-Semitism", "Anti-Semitic" and "Anti-Semite" are antiquated terms.

Repel all of this unAmerican rhetoric and vote a total Blue ticket in November. Something terrible has happened to the Republican Party and only voting D can hold the fort.

Anti Semitic rhetoric is unfortunately alive and well! We must vote! Remain vigilant! Never Again!!!!

Vera Sharav says that 'Never again' is now; and she's not just referring to antisemitism. What about anti Christian bias?

Dan, your comment: “Make sure you vote, work to get others to vote…ask yourself how you can help another person and help your community.” has lit a fire. Thank you.

Great job illustrating the roots of discrimination and the irrational reasoning involved. To "Never again should we allow hate to take deep root", I would add, "Never again should we allow Anxiety (fear) and hate take deep root."

"I do not believe we are not on the brink of becoming Nazi Germany"

My wife, the daughter of a survivor that barely got out of Germany in time, has actually voiced that fear. I'm going to assume, maybe with too much hope, that your second "not" was accidental.

It is best to read Dan Rather's essays from his site rather than his emails. This typo was promptly corrected after distribution.

10s of millions of us have always been haters. But they were suppressed by common norms and a national sense of decency, a sense of fairness...and a respect for the rule of law.

Now, those haters have been released like caged starving dogs .... ready to eat whatever is fed them. Think Game of Thrones. Hopefully, as in that scene, the despicable owner will be eaten by those he trained to hate.

True, the manifestation of favors. Favors for us and favors for them. Doing antisemitism a favor is above and beyond a rejection.

A few years back a young priest in my parish delivered a powerful homily on hate. He was relating his visits with a Jewish holocaust survivor that he would visit at a nursing home. I stopped him after mass a few weeks later to talk more. He basically said the climax of evil was WW2. It never went away but was subdued for a time. Since then we have had the longest sustainable prosperity (not with out some blips). He pointed out that as that prosperity continued evil started making it’s come back (it never left) and continues to grow. I wish I had his text it is and was so on mark.

I think what we are witnessing in the world (and country) now, is the ultimate of evil.

It seems every morning reveals a new twist, new horror, new violation of our laws or generally accepted ethic. Elements so hidden are exposed, have taken root silently. Americans must awaken to what really is , before what we love and respect disappears!

Americans have to wake up and understand that Donald Trump wants to divide America in order to regain power - now matter how and no matter the cost!

I signed up last night to read the comments on Dan's article . I made a comment in line with others and thought no more about it. I received the nastiest email ( I didn't know our email would be available) from someone called" Islamophobic " using all kinds of racial slurs. You can bet I will not be commenting again. I could find no place to report the person but he should be banned and our email should not be public for any crazies to contact us.
