Sadly i dont think anything will change, at least in the Red GQP controlled gun obsessed states. They dont want ANY restrictions on guns. I guess theyre ok with innocent people, school children, their neighbors & friends being murdered by GUNS. Theyre brainwashed and controlled by the NRA, who have bribed politicians and spewed lies, misinformation & propaganda, and created a cult of gun obsessed nutjobs. i have little hope America will solve this problem.

“We can only hope that the accumulation of bloodshed will eventually lead to a turning point.” How much blood will it take? When do Americans stop wringing their hands in angst and start a movement? It’s been done before. The war in Vietnam comes to mind. Stop thinking and praying and start taking action.

Please don’t let us become numb or hopeless. We must persist.

I am angry, furious, and so, so very sad to keep experiencing this ongoing needless nightmare of gun tragedies. I have lost two relatives to gun violence many years ago in a much different environment. People must stop electing crazed, cowardly, non empathetic and do nothing people to legisltative offices with gun fettishes. Guns, greed, hate and ignorance is choking this country. But I refused to give in to apathy and complicity by not fighting for change.

Raising the age for buying an assault machine gun to 21 is woefully inadequate. Nobody needs them for hunting or self-defense.

I feel so hopeless. I will take that with me to the polls when I vote. We need gun control. Now.

The aBOTS and cruzers are right - it is a mental health issue. THEY are the ones with the mental problems along with all the other republicans who choose to proudly display guns on their lapels, in their Christmas cards, and with pictures on social media playing this is ok. It's not ok. I find it sad that I heard a mother who was at the Allen mall with her daughters and that she stood outside the door to where they were hiding guarding them from the shooter with her concealed carry weapon. She actually thought she could defend them against a deranged white supremacist in body armor with an AK14? The obsession with the 2nd amendment has people over the edge to the point we are no longer a free society- unless of course you are one of the mentally ill people that believe freedom includes toting a gun around with you so that maybe you can shoot first. Or that you shoot the person who knocks on your door because you're paranoid the person is a threat to you. This no longer freedom - it's a mental disorder called PARANOID PERSONALITY DISORDER: symptoms include pervasive distrust and suspicion of others and cannot see their role in problems or conflicts.

There is something absolutely disgustingly perverse about the phrase ‘active shooter’. I’m not criticizing you for using it, but, think about it: it changes the meaning of what is actually happening in the situation - someone is going through an area with a weapon with the intent to kill people. None of these ‘active shooters’ were aiming at anything but their fellow humans. ‘Armed killer’ would be more appropriate! I don’t wonder that science fiction authors postulated a universe where alien life would decide that we were too dangerous to be let out into the cosmos, and came to tell us to get out act together (or else) or at the most, just wiped us out.

I am sorry but the people involved with the NRA are pigs! PIGS! LaPierre has been CEO since 1991. He has always carried hateful rhetoric with him everywhere. It would be nice if the NRA would lose immediate membership but, of course, now that Trump had let the cats out of the bag, we have a deadly problem. I wish we could infiltrate and create mutiny. I despise and hate them all. I make no apologies for my feelings.

So few comments about the true issue; mental illness and drug addiction. Just almost nothing. Just get rid of the guns, as if that is possible. And those damned right wing gun tot'en Christians.

Are y'all for real? This guy in Allen, Texas had been kicked out of the military for mental health issues. Do you, in your wildest dreams, think his mental illness might have played a part in his actions? Did he obviously want to die, to be killed?? Of course he did. He was mentally ill. He was a sick man. It is an illness, no different than a cold or the flu. Drug addiction as well. Illnesses.

When will you gun hating fanatics acknowledge that people shoot people because they are screwed up and need help?? What he did is no different that that long time friend you haven't seen in many years, taking his own life as he suffered from his depression and who knows what else.

I personally thing you gun haters want revenge and getting peoples guns is that revenge. Fine and I don't care. Why, because you are just as much of the problem as the shooters are. That's right, I said it. You haven't the balls to deal with mental illness on that scale, do you?? Hell no.

There is an entire group of people across the country who are victims of addiction and mental illness. Y'all ignore it. You flat out turn your head to it. Then you go on these echo chambers and spout off as if you have a clue about anything even remotely similar to what really needs to be done.

What a joke! Talk all you want. It won't solve a thing.

A never ending major malady in this Nation of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I used to think maybe free Viagra would help but now realize hate is a greater mental illness. Sadly, we can not save our grandchildren from this sickness. It seems the minority are willing to bring destruction down on our Country to get their beliefs the rule of the land. Our Founding Fathers, I am sure, would be in disbelief to see where we are today.

I am numb and hopeless today. When Sandy Hook happened nothing changed. Nothing changed after Uvalde. Chris Murphy tried. Nothing really changed. Weapons are getting more powerful and easier to get. I’m tired of these people that think they speak for God. Second amendment is not the Second Commandment. Nothing will change in Texas.

Show the unvarnished images of the bloodied, shredded, bodies. Show the gore. Put it above the fold in the front page. That is the only chance to make it stop. Whitewashing the carnage contributes to its perpetuation. Emmett Till’s mother had it right.
