You have FABulous taste Steady Team! So grateful to be affiliated. I know I’m a week late getting to this but love it, love that you exposed me to “playing for change”. What extraordinary work you and the do. Thank you.
What wonderful performances ! I remember what a powerful voice Mahalia Jackson had.
Her duet with Dinah Shore is priceless, but my favorite is Grandpa Elliot and voices from around the world. Preservation Hall jazz band is the best. I’ve been to New Orleans several times and the music and food is unlike anywhere else. Thanks for
O those GODs! those Good Old Days! there really were some really good things back then - just as there are in these times. Singing' and Laughing' are two of my favorites. So, I sat here on this grey day, 3-1-22 in Storrs CT and sang and laughed... L&B&L
I'm revisiting this today to share a smile for a Sunday :) I've been receiving an email a day from "28 Days of Black History" . Today I read about Jim "Mudcat" Grant, an All-American baseball player with the Twins and there was a link to a YouTube video. It was fun watching him hit a 3-run homer in the 6th World Series game in 1965! But what I enjoyed even more was his beautiful rendition of "What a Wonderful World" in honor of Harmon Killebrew in 2011. It's also touching to watch the people in the stands, and ... well just watch: https://youtu.be/vu8iu4xTDMU
This is a really engaging performance with lead-off by Grandpa Elliott. Thank you to all the musicians and to you/your team for the link to this and the other musical videos of 'Down by the Riverside'. It did make me smile today.
Thank you! I know it’s been a while since this was first posted - but believe me - it means as much as it did or not more now!
See Grandpa Elliott's "God Bless America" video, in memoriam.
I love this. thank you!!!
...and a fitting sendoff for Grandpa Elliott's passing this week...
