Four justices lied to Congress. Two have sexual abuse allegations. Ginni Thomas has proven to be a morality problem for the court. Their rulings no longer express justice but rather political opinions.

Well said, Dan and Elliot! Once Garland’s nomination was, in my not so humble opinion, blocked, any respect I had for the Court was gone. The elevation of Kavanaugh further sealed that loss of respect.

"I am not nor will I ever be an activist judge" John Roberts at his conformation hearing. Liar.

this country seems unavoidably headed for spirals of reciprocal violence. The legitimacy of a supreme court, resting on the general perception of its objectivity and fairness, has always been the bulwark against such a nation-destroying calamity. The Machiavellian McConnell has done more harm to the Republic than all the Putin assets combined.

It seems to me that the overarching question is, are we a nation governed by the rule of law vs. the preferences and whims of men…or not?

This shines a spotlight on the need for a constitutional amendment guaranteeing women, and men, the right to control what happens to their own bodies. This matter should not be left in the hands of an increasingly politicized Supreme Court.

Yet another example how a healthy, functioning Democratic Republic can be gravely damaged by Christian Nationalism, no matter how many times people erroneously contend we are a "Christian nation." People who believe they no longer have to seek better answers to life's most profound questions do not deserve a seat on the highest court in the most powerful free country in the world.

The moment I saw the article by the NYT it lit me up! Thanks for putting into eloquent words what a load of BS it was for our highest court to abuse its power to investigate and exonerate itself.

I have no faith in anything this present Supreme Court does. They are corrupt to the core.

I just read the Deadline Hollywood article about the documentary that is now being screened at Sundance

This, along with the weak tea investigation describes a court that has twisted itself into knots protecting its right flank. Unfortunately, we the people, as always, pay the price for an institution that is so desperate to impose their idea of a just society that it has rendered itself laughably, embarrassingly invalid.

"We have a court that is losing the trust of a large swath of the American people." Yes!

There are many who believe the goal of the insurrectionists is to simply undermine trust in all our vital institutions. This so called 'investigation' seems to further that goal.

I wonder if it ever occurs to them that us not knowing is doing more damage to undermine them than knowing would do. The integrity of the office is shameful.

All my life I had great respect for the Supreme Court and the judges and was glad they were there. Now, along with so many other institutions it has fallen into disrespect by so many of us. Much of this is because of the 3 pushed through by Trump. Have had serious doubts about that process since Thomas got in.
