It is so hard for me to understand how ANYONE could consider the X could run again for President. When some people for a small amount of marijuana can be jailed for a year and yet tRump gets a LONG drawn out trial to decide. There is a problem with the justice system.

I understand that it takes time to get all the ducks in a row to bring him to trial but it’s so frustrating

You have nailed this

Expect what scares me is how many people still believe this guy and will vote for him.

I’m hoping that when the whole truth comes out he will drop out…

Late to replies, however, please refer to NOTES by Robert Weber who is on a rant (rightfully so) to move us to act on Section #3, Constitutional Amendment #14, to prohibit Trump’s name on ballot at all thanks to enormous volume of work by CREW available for download via PDF. Approx. 90 pages, completely sourced by the energetic and hardworking folks at CREW. We need not win all court cases or get lost in legalize or Trump Fatigue. There is a remedy. So let’s get to work! I located link and will repost in notes! The more to see there! 🧐🧐🧐

Too many hyphens and dashes that break the flow of the text. It appears to be an AI version, not the writings of an elderly well versed Texan, who is a great reporter and journalist.

Please check your grammar so we can read your always interesting journalistic reports.

Thank you. Well said. Wish you were back on TV doing the nightly news.

I am so over this child and his drama. Just put him away like we would anyone else who broke the law. Can we please move on to do grown up things like taking care of our country. Here's an idea; maybe our elected officials can stop finger pointing and GET TO WORK. Just saying, .….

Yeah, it seems no matter what Trump gets charged with now, to his supporters he's the persecuted martyr(to use Dan's words); a hero even; fighting against the evil, far left, Democratic machine. Any action is justified because he's fighting evil. Why respect the rules of the system? The system is evil.

It's like the theme of countless action movies. The good guy can kill 200 people as long as they're all bad and/or it's for a good cause.

It is my understanding that the trial for the Georgia indictment will occur before the 2024 General Election.

This obsession scares me. He is a criminal and has been for years. He is a serial liar and should be called out as such daily.

How can we get the CNN and MSNBC's of the world to not just report about him 24 hours a ENOUGH...If I never saw his face again I would be happy. I put stickers over them in the newspaper so it doesn't ruin my breakfast.

How many men does it take to strap him into his corset so he can look slimmer in his only blue suit and tie. Is he wearing a wig? How can he have long white hair one day and short yellow hair the next? I am so tired of all this and the time between now and Nov 2024 will be awful.

How can millions of people still think he is president and in charge of the military? Crazy....

We have four Republican candidates running for Governor in my home state of Indiana and they all are wanting us to believe this is a Democratic conspiracy and that Democrats are using the courts for their own political purposes. Boy...that is like the pot calling the kettle black.

One of the candidates is a former state attorney general who said "I want President Trump to know this: Hoosiers stand behind him, and we will fight like hell to defend free speech and the integrity of our justice system from prosecutors who are out for revenge." I mean...what free speech? Bribing and coaxing officials in an effort to usurp a fair election is not free speech...it is a crime. Getting your base riled up and angry by lying about the results of an election and sending them off to storm the Capitol isn't free speech. Bribing and lying is not free speech. And, be clear, he is not speaking for all Hoosiers. Some of us, I hope many of us, are not that gullible and ignorant and naive.

There have been four separate indictments and although it is a prosecutor or district attorney that investigates the criminal charges, it is grand juries of average American citizens that approve the true bill of indictment. Four separate indictments, one in a state court, would require quite the conspiracy.

No, it is Republicans who want to use the courts and the legal system for political purposes and to improperly, if not illegally, influence elections. How many cases did they take to the courts wanting a fair election overturned? It was a large number...and they lost them all.

Whether convicted or not, to any sane person, he clearly is not fit for office. It is absolutely mind boggling how we have so many in public office who are not fit for the position. If you are only concerned about yourself and your wealth and your power and your desire to set policy based on your own personal faith beliefs...as far as I'm concerned, you are not fit for office. The American people deserve better.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to measure the damage the demagogic Trump has done --- and threatens to do --- to good government and democracy in the United States. Anyone in his inner circle who has supported him, past or present, invariably finds their reputation sullied. It's way past time for the feeble leadership of the Republican National Committee party to blow the whistle on this menace and stop worrying about the fallout from misguided followers who don't know what they're talking about.

Dan, and any other helpers of this journalism effort: PBS broadcasts a Rick Steves special travel related program titled "The Story of Fascism in Europe." We watch it last night for the umpteenth time. It is a great reminder of what to watch out for in the world. I hate to see that I see reflections of it in the Trump case. Thank you for your great work. I'm reading each of your emails from sub stack.

He is solely running to stay out of prison. He never wanted to be president, he just wanted more publicity.

Many MORE tens of millions of us, than the tens of millions of maggots, receive this news with an ENORMOUS sigh of relief, and of gratitude. There are way more of "us" than of "them". Let's not forget it!
