Dick Van Dyke is one of the very few performers who has brought me joy every single time I see and hear him. My first exposure was on the Dick Van Dyke Show, starring the VERY YOUNG Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore, and I was completely entranced, Needless to say, any time I see his name featured, I have to go and see what he is doing, always perfectly. It was truly joy-inspiring to see him dance and sing again, and to see the delight on Chris Martin's face while he watched, too. Another generation smitten by Mr. Van Dyke's delight and charm in doing what he does so well! Thank you for sharing this. A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

I have watched this video many times and cried, how beautiful the song is and the tribute to a great actor, dancer, etc. I was amazed how well Dick Van Dyke can still dance. Thank you Mr Rather for sharing.

Another brilliant piece, Dan! I am a huge fan of Dick Van Dyke too. To think that Chris Martin and Coldplay would honor him this way says a lot about how much music unites us.

I saw only a pice of this clip earlier on another site. Thanks for adding it to your weekly “Reason to Smile”segment.😎

Looking for an educated and compassionate readership, my apologies for using this space for my plea for HELP! My dearest friend is said by her BIL, a jewelry manufacturer in Los Angeles. (through a 3rd party) to be "in a nursing home," but he doesn't know or won't say its name nor location. Joanne isn't answering any of her several phone numbers. Her husband and son are both deceased. Her two daughters haven't responded, either. Her home in Whittier is worth MUCHO. Can anyone help me find Joanne M. Hill, HS class of 1964? PI's want $700 to start. I can't do. Her married last name begins with D, and ends in -ian. My email addy (California) is tractionpads@gmail.com.

Again, my deep apologies for reaching out this way to Dan Rather's intelligent readership. I've tried all other feasible lines of search. There don't seem to be any data on nursing home inmates!
