There is only one issue for me and that is preserving our democracy. Therefore there is only one vote and that is for Biden. All other candidates and concerns pale by comparison.

I too am concerned about Biden’s age, but I wholeheartedly agree that at this stage, very practically speaking, there is only that one issue and that is to preserve our country’s democracy and prevent an authoritarian criminal from easing into office.
Actually, his age does offer the benefit of experience. Some of us elders know that his possibilities for a fully functioning mentality are much better than some who came before ( and likely now!) So far some of us still have a brain at advanced age even if a few other things are not making us as agile as in years past. Do look at what is important.
I agree with you. I know people that are old and have trouble walking but their mind is sharp. Trump on the other hand is fat and could have a heart attack at any moment and anything that comes out of his mouth is garbage.
Biden exercises everyday. He keeps his mind sharp by doing that. His expertise in foreign affairs cannot be matched with any other leader in the world. He’s not old. He’s seasoned!
I AM 75 and a bit foggy at times. But there is no fog in my mind about the dangers a potential tRump presidency means to the US. Biden , though not perfect, is a good man, with good intentions and a compassionate heart. Besides this point, should he have to resign or should he not survive his term, I would heartedly welcome President Kamala Harris. She is ready!
Agreed. The way I see it, there is absolutely NO ONE on the left (right now) who has the skills necessary to keep us from falling off the cliff we find ourselves. The only reason we still have a democracy right now is because of Joe Biden. There are many up and coming possibilities but they are waaaay too green to get the job done. Even Obama, whom I love, would be too green to navigate us through this crisis.
In 2024, we need to take all three branches of government, plus get rid of some really horrific judges, governors and school board members. Then we need to keep all of the people who voted BLUE in '24 to stay committed to being active participants in our government so this never happens again. Together, we need to re-imagine our government: reform and expand the Supreme Court, abolish the electoral college, grant statehood to DC, give Puerto Rico self-determination, end the filibuster, pass the Voting Rights Act, vote in a new breed of "politician" that honestly works FOR the American people and finally TAKE CARE OF OUR CLIMATE CRISIS!

Not "trash" talking.

Yes! I think his age has given him the political experience to not just weather these crazy times but to get some amazing things accomplished.

Trump is a pig on a spit.
Yes. I'm 78 and still very clear about this situation.

As one "elder" to another, I have to agree! Biden won and for that I thank God everyday!
Joseph you raise a good point. While Biden at 80 and Trump at 77 are older, a young age is no guarantee of longevity.

I agree that right now, in late 2023, the only choice is Biden.
The Democrats have to start showcasing younger presidential possibles. We need to see and hear more of Ms. Harris
Sadly I don’t think about many republican leaning folks agree with you or even understand what your point means to our future.
I agree but at this point we’re not going to change anyone’s mind. What we need to do is make sure Democrats vote and vote for democracy.
Yes, yes, yes 👍
I’ll have what she’s having…(g)
Until we primary out the more extreme fringes of the Republican party, we are going to be stuck with MAGA candidates each trying to outdo each other.
But not all.
Yes, my feelings exactly
