It is such a relief to have his name removed. It was so symbolic of his authoritarianism and vile inhumanity. I'm not sure the center can recover any time soon. I'm sure there are issues of funding and so much has been cancelled. But once this administration is gone - and it will be one day - perhaps the Kennedy Center will remain a symbol of what is good about a country like hours - that through the arts shows its strength of character. Onward. Forward. There's still much pain to live through but "steady" is how we'll get through. Please, Dan, stay well.
That is great news, however the running of this fine institution has still been hijacked. I fear it will not be able to go back to its original purpose to ennoble Americans through the arts, as well as to support artists and be an economic driver for the city, until there is a change in administration.
It is so embarrassing that we have this small, petulant child as POTUS. His handlers probably hope that "Antifa" will tear down that stupid scaffolding so they can arrest people and call it an insurrection. Then MAGA can "what about..." for eternity.
How utterly pathetic and predictable The Felon is. He commits all his many illegal acts “out loud “, defiantly and aggressively then slithers away when held accountable. There is soooo much slithering for him, his family and his administration to do. We will have much to do to wipe away their slime trails.
It is with guarded hope that the “small” victories over authoritarianism buttress our belief in our agency and ability to repel those who would sell out our democratic process and ideals.
So happy that it’s been fixed. Now if only we can bring back the beautiful Rose Garden his wife gifted us and fix the reflecting pool. If it doesn’t reflect the monuments like it should then it’s no longer a reflecting pool.
All in good time, Brenda. Perhaps if a blue tsunami hits this November, we can prevent any further aesthetic atrocities being inflicted on our national capital. And if we win the trifecta two years later, we can start demolishing those that have already been put up.
Any comment about the rainbow appearing during the name removal?
Is this a current picture

As my second grade teacher taught us “Music alone shall live, never to die.”
But what's happening with the Ballroom? Is it still going up?
The Trump tarp is tantamount to how a 4 to 8 month old believes something no longer exists if it is out of sight.
He's gonna leave that tarp up. Because reasons
A deep, cleansing breath for the integrity of the Arts~

We have all heard that "his" name is gone, but has the "tarp" been removed?

Thank you Dan.
Awesome!
