Yours Truly Dan Rather was born and raised in Texas. I think that is why Mr Rather considers himself a country boy. A good part of Texas is rural ranching country.
John Sommers played the fiddle and he wrote that song indeed.
Thank God I'm A Country Boy is truly one of John Denver's best songs EVER!
The lyrics are well-written as well.
It's so sad that John Denver's no longer with us and unable to witness America's 250th anniversary.
If he lived to the 2000s, 2010s and 2020s he would have a lot to say and he wouldn't be happy, but he'd encourage us to keep the faith and be proud Americans in good times and bad times.
It's great to focus on what makes us smile in a time where most articles make us grimace. You don't have to be a country boy or girl to appreciate the simple things in life and some lively heart felt music. Thanks again Dan for keeping us steady. You are a credit to humanity ❣️
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13 KJV)
For Logos, and Christos, and Telos, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen (Romans 11:36 KJV).
The Language of The Universe is Logos.
John 1:1 In the beginning was Logos, and Logos was with God, and Logos was God.

John Denver left us way too soon. I still listen to his music. He has always been one of my favorite performers. I have so many favorites, but as a native of Colorado I would pick, "Guess He'd Rather Be in Colorado."
❤️
His family may not realize it; but, John Denver is still loved, respected and sorely missed.

He was my mom’s favorite. His music was a constant presence during my childhood. And my mom was a city gal!

Thanks, Dan. I LOVED John Denver. Felt so bad about his untimely death.
Since you say you are a country boy, I am wondering if you can do the Texas Two Step.
I'll bet you can.
Thanks Dan! John Denver was my first favorite singer growing up.

Saw him in concert - great entertainer! And yes, I’m old as dirt. 🤣
Thanks, Dan! I am still a huge John Denver fan. I appreciate this "Reason to Smile!"
