Love this. I once sat right next to Roger Daltrey on a countertop at a record store in Dallas, Texas when I was a teenager, just before one of his concerts. I remember slipping my small self through the crowd to get close enough for an autograph. It was the Pinball Wizard era, and I was completely starstruck. I still have the signed poster tucked safely in my safe-deposit box.

Sent to me. It said "Dan". Didn't realize it was *you*! Still going strong!

Great singer/performer, great band! Lucky to have seen them many times, pre-Tommy; as well. Seeing the Movie of Woodstock; you could see the power of their performance. Got to see them play Tommy at the Filmore East. The Who's Next Tour was/is one of the greatest live performances. More shows after that.

Happy Birthday Sir Roger! He's also good at doing 18th Century music. He played the part of the Highwayman in the musical "The Beggars Opera." He did a wonderful job! Very talented and versatile. He deserves the Knighthood. Keep on going. Thank you Mr. Rather for sharing this.

He's so right about hearing the words. Too many of today's so-called "songs" are incomprehensible.

Won't get fooled again, no no! Each time a CSI started, I thought of The Who, not of the shows.

Brings to ming d my favorite quote from Jimmi Hendrix: "If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen with music."

I would add art. Picasso's famous painting, Guernica, about the horrors of war has probably had more effect on the world consciousness than all the peace demonstrations in history.

I saw Roger and Pete at a concert a few months ago. They were amazing! Seriously, the two of them had more energy on stage than everyone in the crowd! It was fantastic!!!!!

Even though it was "Tommy" that came out in my day, i became a huge The Who fan through college and onward. See Me, Feel Me rocked my world the first time i heard it, but my all time fave has to be 'Love, Rein O'er Me'. Now, that is Epic.

If any of your readers want to know more about Sir Roger Daltrey, I suggest you check out his autobiography published in 2018. Its title - “Thanks A Lot, Mr Kibblewhite: My Story”. I’ve read it along with a whole lot of other musician Bios whether self written or by professional writers.

Great energy. I wasn't a WHO fan, I was more into Johnny Cash, BUT always liked this song.

I still remember the first time I heard My Generation. It was at a party in May or June 1965. My friend's older brother had just brought the record back from London. I have loved that song ever since, because it describes how I feel about my generation. We are the luckiest people who have ever lived, with the best music.
