I remember when the skies over LA were brown. Regulations were put in place and we actually saw some blue! I remember rivers and streams with discarded automobiles etc. Regulations changed that. There will always be humans who won’t do the right thing until forced to do so. It’s a necessary and delicate balance.

I believe over time most of us have come to realize that Businesses and Companies are not good at self regulation to protect the environment, employees or people. Most look only for ways to evade, or turn a blind eye to anything that may cost them money, thereby causing their investors/shareholders to dump them

Everyone wanting the government out of their lives and regulations dumped need only look to Love Canal, the Radium Girls, Monsanto , Thallidimide, child labor etc.

there has to be a balance, but the balance should favor the environment, the workers and the public
