Dan, thank you, steady is what we all need. I have a nephew who gets his information from CNN on X to me x is compromised therefore CNN cant be trusted . He swares that the icehole officers cell video that he saw on X exonerated the officer. I read a lot of posts from Heather cox Richardson and her take is no it didn't I'm inclined to believe Heather, Since she didn't get her information from X and shows her homework by listing her sources something few do. I haven't look at the videos but have heard the audio several times. If said ice officer felt threatened I personally didn't hear it. I mean "its okay I'm not mad at you bro" " come at me bro but you better bring a lunch" not much of a threat there. Heather's naritive explained that Ms Good was turning away from the ICE agent and the audio gave me the impression she was given conflicting orders (screamed at actually). I have know a number of LEO'S (federal and state) over the years, only an under trained rookie would step in front of, in this case a car that he considered a potential threat. Since the ice officer in question was hit and dragged 4-6 months ago he should never been on duty PTSD is a real thing and I believe it was in full effect He got hit and dragged.
I’m so glad to report that the Village of Barnesville, Ohio has seen a wonderful reappearance of local news through the heroic efforts of a small group of folks.

Barnesville Area News Company are greatly appreciated in several of our Appalachian Ohio Counties.
A good part of the reason Trump got away with his insurrection is that his planning and execution were just miserable failures. The only other major reason is because he, Judge Cannon, Clarence Thomas, and the rest, CHEATED their asses off.
The is a fine commentary regarding our country's plight, seconded only by the all too troubling images it brings to mind when one considers the truth of our condition. America, despite the attempts of Thomas Jefferson (my favorite Founder), to stress and satisfy the need for an educated nation in order to ensure its survival, is drowning in a pool of ignorance much like quicksand. And they know not from whence their troubles came. In fact, they continue to support the traitors at the helm of their and, unfortunately, our, destruction.
Your closing words may, in fact, be the only way out of this crisis. The courage, the will, the inspiration come from supportive words of those journalists willing and able to commit to speech the words this nation needs to hear. And, driven home, surely the patriotism that I have thought I shared with many others will rise to the forefront and carry us to the deliverance we so desperately seek. May your words, Mr. Rather, and those of your talented and devoted associates be at the forefront of our rescue.
I finally decided to unsubscribe to the Washington Post, following their failure to mention the Jack Smith interrogation and a column by Mark Thiessen praising Trump for "bringing the universities to heel." I had hung on for the value of the reporting, but this is editorial, and the obvious direction of the publication is now unsupportable.
The funds for that will now go towards substacks or NPR.
We do indeed, need a free well informed press to keep our democracy. Where to actually find it? We have this space on Substack and many free subscriptions, but they are limited in what is shared. I cannot afford to bankroll each one. Each is a niche unto itself with voices that speak to different and necessary topics not covered by others. It’s like chasing tail. I do appreciate you and team Steady, Dan! If I win the lottery, I’ll bankroll all of you to expose this putrid regime and any other wannabe dictator who deigns to destroy our Constitutional Democracy !

As Joe Friday always used to say, "Just the facts, ma'am, all we want is the facts". As true for journalism as it is with a detective story. The legacy media has forgotten to give the facts. They are too busy sane-washing and kowtowing to truly give factual news anymore because of what might happen to them! Hence the media sources such as Midas Touch and Steady. One of my favorite movies is 'Foreign Correspondent" with Joel McCrae, a journalist fighting the lies of the Nazis. The final scene is Joel doing a news broadcast in war torn London. As bombs are dropping around him in the studio and the lights are out, he continues his broadcast exposing the Nazis. It reminds me of what is going on now. Even though it's a movie, it was probably based on real life journalists such as Edward R. Murrow. We need journalists like that now. Keep the home fires burning, Mr. Rather. You are one of those kind of journalists. Thank you!
