‘Tis the season! Finally! And, folks, it didn’t come a moment too soon.
Happy holidays. Merry Christmas. Happy Hanukkah. Happy Kwanzaa.
However you celebrate, I hope this week’s reason to smile brings a little joy and peace to your heart.
This is a song you might hear anytime of year, but more and more it’s been recognized as a holiday song. “Let There Be Peace on Earth” was written back in the 1950s. Vince Gill, among many others, has recorded a version, but I’m partial to this one by Carrie Underwood.
Please take a moment to appreciate her world-class voice. It’s a welcome message at the end of a challenging year. While world peace would be wonderful, I would be happy with a little peace here at home. Maybe some kindness too.
Make sure to enjoy your friends and family. Hold them close. You never know when it might be the last holiday you get to share with a loved one. I thank you for all your support this year. I am ready for the challenges ahead.
If you are able to, please support my team, who make pieces like this possible.
No matter how you subscribe, I thank you for reading and listening.
Stay Steady,
Dan
Thinking of you and all who have lost a loved one since last Christmas. Thank you for reminding us to appreciate the people in our lives every day. As you so eloquently wrote, you never know when it will be too late.
Dear Mr. Rather, You probably do not remember this but in the summer of 1995 I watched as you interviewed President Bill Clinton while walking between piles of sandbags ten feet high in a flooded Des Moines city, with a completely inundated Des Moines Metro area. The city was without potable drinking water because the Des Moines Water Works was flooded. The two of you showed a calm demeanor in spite of these circumstances due to spring flooding. Your calm was appreciated then as it is now. Thank you. You are appreciated on many levels for your demeanor and dedication to our country.
