Heartbreak. Loss. Anger.
Again. Again. Again.
Again.
This time in Maine.
Next time, somewhere else.
Because there will be a next time.
Another community left reeling. And asking why.
More families shattered.
What more is there to say? That hasn’t been said?
Other than to remember that none of this should be deemed normal, or commonplace, or acceptable. We can do better. We must do better.
There is no other choice except to condone the unconscionable.
The "person of interest", armed and dangerous (of course) is still at large, presumably in the Maine woods. He could be anywhere; he may as well be. This can happen literally ANYWHERE in America. This is the reality in America: that our quality of life (and right to life) takes a dive for the sake of a self-serving twisted interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. We deserve better.
To paraphrase Golda Meir, “When Americans love their people more than they love their guns, some progress will be made”
