I can’t believe that 26 states have turned over their voter data.

As many jurisdictions as possible need to get set up for mail in voting. If there are no polling places for ICE to intimidate, they will be much less effective in stealing the election.

A Blue Tsunami (the House AND the Senate) would be the best Christmas gift I've ever received! Guess what happens next, Dunny Donny Boy? No toys for you; you've been a very bad boy!

The last election was the most consequential. This was is a continuation!

Keep it up Dan. One can only hope some Republicans in Congress still believe in majority rule and will vote with Dems to stop Trump's rigging of the midterms. But I kind of doubt it. We are screwed.

I've thought ever since he was "elected" this time that the republicans would gin up some "national emergency" along about September, declare martial law, and cancel the elections! At this point in time it seems the only possible way they can hold the majority in the House, and quite likely the senate as well!

I do not need my birth name on any medical or legal information. My driver's license and credit cards are in my married name. There is no reason to require a birth certificate to agree with a driver's license. (If men had to find old documents or pay for copies, this would not be an issue.)

I am beginning to believe that Harris won in 2024.

Let freedom ring and Trump rot!

Trump did complain about the 2016 election. He won the electoral college but lost the popular vote by almost three million votes. He claimed for quite some time that the election was rigged and he actually won the popular vote as well.

Our democracy is being destroyed and republicans are complicit.

Vote them out in November and any democrats that have supported them.

It is a little hard to Stay Steady after reading this. Even after stealing the voting records in GA; they could not find any voter fraud. The orange monster is a loser in 2020 and always has been and will be.

So all trump has to do is pay Thune's "price" to end the filibuster and our democracy is gone....

We are living atop a volcano,

And currently, we enjoy our daily lives and go about our routines. We have nothing to worry about; our lives are the same today as they were last year, with no noticeable changes. We are satisfied with our lives and don't experience any worries. If the volcano erupts, we would be devastated, but as of now, it has not.

People, it will erupt, and our lives will change. ICE is a distraction, preventing us from noticing the programmed volcano being created by extreme conservatives at the Heritage Foundation. They work behind the scenes, making dramatic, formidable changes, but for now, we are living distracted. They are like a virus, slowly infecting us with effects that are not immediately felt or seen. But we are infected and will eventually succumb to the virus.

Major changes in our foreign relations, the firing of military generals, the use of the DOJ as an extension of the president, the constant push to invade states, and the exploration of the limits the states are willing to accept, along with the slow invasion of every aspect of free speech. These are happening at an unrecognizable, relentless pace.

And so, what can we do?

It may sound radical, but I believe we have to be radical; otherwise, we are lost. I know that as soon as I mention secession, people will stop listening, but it's the only way for us to survive.

Can we discuss this together? I propose that the four main democratic states be on the West Coast, along with a large group from Maine to Maryland on the East Coast, and that other states, if they choose, would declare their secession from the federal government.

Hold your breath, let me continue—I know that the first thing you are worried about is whether this will cause chaos in our country.

Let's go through thinking about this scenario.

All the remaining states that choose not to secede will remain with the present government. They will change nothing except that Democratic states contribute nearly 40 to 50 percent of the federal budget, so they would have to reconsider their expenditures. They would have a president, a Congress, and a functioning government.

Democratic states could utilize their established legislative and regulatory powers until they decide to form a unified organization of democratic states. They would need to establish a new state tax structure to fund expenses currently covered by the federal government, such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other federally funded programs. Essentially, their citizens would pay less than they did before secession.

Some of your questions: What about the armed forces? The state could negotiate an arrangement to support these forces, provided that they have input into how these forces are used.

What about foreign relations? These states can form their own relationships with other countries, while the remaining states would also maintain theirs. When they choose to create a unified government, they could establish their own military forces and build new relationships with foreign nations.

You may have other concerns, but realize that, as with other countries, there would have to be a negotiating arrangement between the governments of the renaming states and the new states.

But we will have survived an enemy attack from within, and states and their citizens will control our new government. It is a well-known fact that small states can control corruption before it causes damage.

I hear what you're saying but for those of us whose roots/ jobs/ homes/families are in red states, relocating to a blue state is not a valid option-especially with housing costs in most blue states.

My family has been talking a lot about the Democratic "Giver States" seceding from the "Taker States". The States that caused this Incompetent Oaf to be in power and the Evil Administration that kowtows to his every whim would sink without the "Giver States" assistance. I think it is perfectly rationale to put this on the table for further discussion. Each day our rights are being trampled on, causing much injury and heartbreak. Everyone needs to get out into the streets as much as possible and proudly Resist this heinous group of thugs.
